I stay here every time I go to Melbourne, location is great, staff are always helpful, the rooms are always clean and fresh. The hotel is close to a variety of restaurants and bars, the casino is easily accessed via trams on Elozabeth street. Great location for shopping and is an easy run to airport and all the sporting venues...

Nice soft bed, clean room, great location for shopping. Three airconditioners, large fridge, microwave, housekeeping excellent. Bathroom okay but shower needs to be a lot bigger. Overall a good place but expensive at an average of $500 per night for 2 bedroom loft apartment.

The location is fantastic and it was very easy to get around with free trams very close by. The staff were also very helpful, giving directions and lending umbrellas on rainy days. The room was clean and well serviced.

The room was exceptionally clean and the staff were extremely welcoming. The location is unbeatable if shopping is the purpose of your trip. I found the room to be very dark which made it rather claustophobic. Although there is nothing that can be done about the lack of natural light some brighter globes would have made the room much more...

They charge extra for the internet, what was very expensive and the connection wasn't very fast. For doing business, its frustrating. The double bed moved apart every night, whats was annoying. Location is great for shopping.

Dear Marco K, Thank you for taking the time to post your experience. Our apologies that we did not meet expectation regarding the internet. We tend to advertise internet as a paid service however quite surprised that the speed was less than ideal. Kind regards, Andrew Walling General Manager

Value and location were the real winners, with spacious apartments that had a real character about them. Fantastic service. Offered late check out at a small fee. This was the second place that I stayed in on my trip to Melbourne and next time I would only book this place.

totally loved our stay here at city central mantra. The staff have been amazing - very very helpful. I decided to extend my stay - and moved to a new room due to full booking. My new room is gorgeous and full of charm and character - yet warm, cozy and comfortable. Thanks guys I'll be back!!

Location of apartments is excellent, right in the heart of the CBD, walking distance to anything you could need. The room catered for my needs well would rate it higher if the kitchenette had an oven or if there was a washing washing located in room but for the money it was great. No complaints.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
