After another recent stay at Clarion Sutie Gateway, i thought i would do another review. Once again, the staff were very friendly, professional & helpful. As many reviewers have mentioned, the location is great & I actually think that you would struggle to find a hotel in a better location to so many different parts of Melbourne. My room was...

This is the second time hubby and I have stayed at The Clarion Suites and again, it did not disappoint. The best feature of the hotel is definitely the location being just over a bridge from Southbank. There is plenty of trams and cabs outside the hotel for travelling further, but really, you can practically walk everywhere from here, eg...

I stayed here with a friend who was visiting from overseas and i wanted to show her melbourne city. As soon as you walk in the hotel lobby you can tell that the hotel is only 3 star quality compared to other hotels i have stayed in such as crown and sofitel. Our room was a 1 bedroom apartment and...

My brother & I stayed here for new years eve 2012/13 & it was great. Had an awesome dinner at the cafe downstairs to start the night, then enjoyed short walking distance to some of the best sights Melbourne has to offer. Situated on the corner of Flinders & Willians Streets, its only a quick walk across the bridge to...

and comfortable bed. The place is not what I would call special, but it certainly has been nice base-camp for the event we have been enjoying at the convention center. I should say that while it is relatively close to the Convention Center, it is still a bit of a hike from here -- but a nice hike. The service...

This was the last hotel we stayed out during our Melbourne trip, and also the most expensive. Was it worth it? No. The good: The location is very central, can walk across the bridge to the casino and southbank area, walk to Collins St, walk to Coles. The staff were professional and the German sounding lady on reception one morning...

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights. It was a great location to have as a base for sightseeing in Melbourne. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good, and the staff were all very helpful. Get a riverview room. It is worth it.

Great to have a break commuting back and forth to Melbourne and the kids needed to get away from suburbia. This is our second stay. They are not kidding when they say perfectly situated. Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
