The first thing that I was disappointed is that I had to pay $8 dollars to keep my bag in a locker before my check in. Secondly, I didn't get the room that I booked for, when I came back to the receptionist, she just told me that they didn't have vacancies in the correct room. Another point is that...

Worst Hostel I have ever stayed in. You're in a room with 10+ people and it is so expensive and crammed. Half the lockers don't work and there are 3 toilets for a 12 room floor. They are constantly trying to get money out of you. Seriously do yourself a favor and go somewhere else like summerhouse, base, or even...

Now, I found my two stays to be trouble free and mostly, good. Reception was friendly and apart from a couple of mistakes when I booked in to stay, they quickly corrected this and I was not charged extra. One (forgot her name) was very nice. Facilities such as the rooms, shower, kitchen, can't complain. Guests were nice enough too....

I took advantage of booking.com services and booked into a 4 dorm mixed room. I must admit I usually dont stay in backpackers hostels so I wasnt expecting to rock up and find rooms as good as the Hilton or something!! I did however expect to be greeted by friendly staff and I also expected the hostel to be somewhat...

The staff was not really friendly when I arrived. During my stay it was fine. The kitchen is dirty, the fridges don't work well and smell really bad. The cuttery is always missing, finding a spoon became a real quest for the graal! The atmosphere is not really friendly, hard to meet people in my opinion except in the room.

Where do i start?! Me and my girlfriend booked 1 night (thankfully only 1) here. We booked it together. One and the same booking, same confirmation number on one and the same voucher! When we arrive they say that we are in different rooms since we booked separately. I explain to him that it was ONE booking made for the...

There where a lot of rats in my room, they made holes to my bags and there was dropping on every corner of my room. I told this to the receptionist and they didn't care at all. In the kitchen they stole my food twice, even though it was tagged. Also I left my sunglasses in their case for a...

This hostel is run by a company that owns a chain of hostels in New Zealand & Australia. Generally, I hate the parent company's hostels. However, in this specific case the hostel was decent. The customer service was good, but understaffed. Everyday there was a line out of the door of people checking in. The employees were friendly and went...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
