Would recommend you stay clear! Its the kind of place you need to wipe your feet on the way out! Price is cheap and I guess you get what you pay for, however I would expect that the rubbish on the window which was there on my arrival would have been moved during my stay. This hostel was the worst...

I can't understand why such place exists. it is very dirty, it smells bad, it is cold, noisy, from another age, nothing is clean. 25$ for that is stealing your money. Sleeping outside in the street is nicer. Staff is nice except managers Free wifi (slow) in the living room. Just don't go there if you can avoid it.

One of the worst hostels I've stayed in in Australia. Unfortunately I've stayed in this hostel for a fair while, literally only because of it's location in the CBD which was close to my place of work. Cleanliness was atrocious, the kitchen and bathrooms were in an appalling state 3/4's of the time. This is probably attributable to the guests...

This hostel was very disappointing. The girl who greeted us on the front desk was friendly enough and gave us plenty of information on the hostel. A second member of staff was also very friendly and willing to help. However this is where the pleasantness ends. My bed sheets were covered in hair and I had to go down to...

If you are in Australia to drink and party, than this is the place to be. There seems to be a large group of people there that knows each other and hangs out all the time. This is the only upside of the place. All the other ones that are advertised are to be honest nothing more than marketing. Free...

Stayed here for 4 nights in April on our first visit to Melbourne and was quite disappointed. We had a private twin room with bunk beds - absolutely fine, the beds were quite comfortable actually - enough space in our room to unpack and still have space to move. Great location to get around the city on the tram network,...

Hostel has a problem with double standards. My friend had her alcohol confiscated from her which is fair enough she broke one of the hostel rules. But when you see the staff members then drinking with their friends in all the other dorms making loads of noise maybe it's not that fair. I also found a poo in the shower...

Now don't get me wrong, I've stayed in my fair share of horrific hostels all around Europe, Asia and Australia, but this was something else. Upon arrival I was "greeted" on reception by one of the most rudest and impatient woman I have ever met. I was given no advice or information about the hostel, just simply handed and envelope...

Large hostel in the city so easy to get around. Kitchen often too crowded and dirty, plenty of bathrooms of varying cleanliness.. rooms spacious but obviously loud as its on a main road oppositr a huge train line (I'm sure some rooms are quieter than the one we had though). Seemed to be a lot of 'odd' guests they were...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
