Great location in Melbourne CBD, tram around the corner. Stayed in a 8 person mixed dorm. Beds were good for a couple of nights. Free pancake breakfast is a nice perk. Low prices for good value. There were mice in the room

Hey there, thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. Glad to hear you enjoyed our central location, it helps alot being right near southern cross and the free tram zone. Ill make sure to let our pancake chef know you appreciated her work :P nice to know you think we offer good value for money! We're sorry...

The location is good, although loud due to the passing trains (all 4-bed female dorms are facing the train tracks). The staff was always friendly and welcoming. A big issue was that there was a mouse in the room and I suspect there were much more than one.

Good location by southern cross station and on free tram route just across the road, good rates everyone friendly however kitchen too small for volume of guests and no tea towels means washing up just piles up on drainage board - please get tea towels. Other than that it just needs some TLC!

Thank you for your review and your feedback. The kitchen can be more difficult to maintain during peak time, however we do have cleaners on throughout the day and night so there is no excuse for the dishes piling up. I pass your feedback onto the Housekeeping manager and the team. Enjoy the rest of your travels :)

I read through some of the comments before booking and they are just way to harsh. It's a cheap hostel , kitchen is quite small for the size, free wifi is extremely slow but the one I payed for was good. BEST part of the hostel is the character of the building and the people. You actually feel like your are...

It was clean and not bad for cheap price, and pancake was very good. However, I saw a mouse early in the morning, so I couldn't sleep well. Except that, everything was fine, and shower room was also good for low price.

Very nice staff but had to share a room with many mice and it woke me up a couple of times. Stayed there a few times and never expected too much. Amazing people running the place and working there and free pancakes are always great! :D They could get some more mugs and basics kitchen equipment.

I had to make a last minute detour to Melbourne. I called and found a place quickly at the Nomads All Nations Hostel in Melbourne. Old place with plenty of character. Only complaint, need more dishes as cups run out quickly. Love the free pasta, rice and pancake breaky!

The hostel, including kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms, was always very clean and tidy. Many great offers every day and a free welcome drink as well as lots of free food. Friendly and helpful staff. Negative point: if travelling alone, don't go there. I think it's the most anti-social hostel I've ever stayed at, everyone's just minding their own businesses and...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
