Stayed in one bedroom apartment which was very spacious for a single. The room was generally cosy, clean and well maintained. What I like best about this service apartment is its location. It is very central to everywhere surrounded by la trobe , lonsdale, Russell street, Bourke st and interesting places, cafes, restaurants, shopping malls etc. All are within walking...

Location is superbly convenient. Staff are excellent. Highly recommended for good value accommodation in central Melbourne, especially with children. Would definitely stay here again. Cannot beat it for price, location, service. There was some noise coming from the street, so if possible, ask for a room on the other side of the building.

The main advantage to staying here is the location. It is close to everything. Lots of great shopping and galleries within walking distance. Apartment was spacious. I would probably choose one not overlooking the car park as our's did. We felt they were a bit tight on replenishing the supplies such as teabags. One negative was we found the reception...

Dear Ciao2007, We thank you for your recent stay at Somerset on Elizabeth and for highlighting our fantastic central location. It is true that the apartments facing Elizabeth Street have a nicer view than those at the rear, however they can be affected by traffic, trams and other street noise. For a next stay with us, please feel free to...

Great location, Very clean & Friendly staff Good design & good facilities Not designed for the luxury traveller or those looking for a special experience. Better than a budget hotel, but not for those looking to spend a lot of time in their room.

Spacious rooms, comfy beds. Relaxing place to stay and close to everything too. Good service and polite staff. Could not hear the outside noise much either. Two televisions to watch as well. Appliances in good condition.

We stayed at the service apartment for 8 nights. It turned out to be a good decision that we had made for this trip. It had a small kitchenette which is well equipped with pots, pans, knives, and other cutleries. There is even a wash disher! There is also a washing machine cum dryer inside the toilet. Location wise, it...

Right in the heart of the city, these large rooms came with all the facilities I could want for a great price. Only thing to improve would be the TVs were quite old so the image was a big jumpy at times but having 2 TVs in a couples room was great! Overall, enjoyed my stay here.

Very central and easy to access all city sites. Check in and out very easy with very pleasant staff. More than enough space in the room. Very comfortable bed. Liked that there is no mini bar in the room to tempt with high price snacks. Plenty of shopping right out the door for anything you need. Will stay again.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
