Great central location (close to all major shops & trems) with exceptional service from staff. Very helpful with a family's first vacation with a 5 month old. Definately will be staying with them again.

Really nice for a one night getaway in the city. We stayed for my partner's birthday and it was good to relax in a nice room in such a good location. Would have been good to have an oven in the kitchen to have more dinner options as I was cooking dinner for him but still managed with what was...

We stayed just one night but chose this place as we stayed here a number of years ago. The advantages of Somerset are that rooms are spacious and fitted out as apartments which is great if you choose to prepare your own meals. We chose to have the continental breakfast provided at a reasonable price which was adequate but nothing...

I Stayed 3 nights for a recent business trip and the hotel is centrally located in the CBD. It is close to all shops and major transport hubs. The beds are comfortable and the room was surprisingly quiet at night considering it's location.

Great hotel near bourke street mall. Wonderful little apartment, super comfy bed, lots of space with all the mod cons for our stay. You could hear a little bit of the traffic outside but it didn't affect our sleeping. Plus that's to be expected when you're in the heart of the city. Wonderful professional service when we checked in couldn't...

Stayed in one bedroom apartment which was very spacious for a single. The room was generally cosy, clean and well maintained. What I like best about this service apartment is its location. Location is superbly convenient. Staff are excellent. Highly recommended for good value accommodation in central Melbourne, especially with children. Would definitely stay here again. Cannot beat it for price, location, service. There was some noise coming from the street, so if possible, ask for a room on the other side of the building.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
