Stayed in room 77. The room is below street level so is quite noisy. The blinds were down and could not be raised. Airconditioning was broken and did not work well. Glasses in the room were dirty. Carpet needed replacing.

Hotel is nice and central, friendly staff, lovely pool. The room itself was absolutely tiny; no room to put suitcases. The bathroom had chipped tiles, room smelled damp and was dark, room could do with a refresh.

Checked in late which was no problem for the manager who than personally directed me to the Gordon Place property. Located in the theatre district and close to restaurants and supermarkets. Easy walk to Melbourne Park and the room was very clean with hotplates and microwave for cooking.

Although booked and confirmed when we arrived they were not ready for us and it took them some time to locate our reservation and then realise they hadn't set aside a room for us! They then put us in an un-airconditioned room that had filthy carpet, a musty bathroom, dirty crockery and was next to a noisy cafe

Friendly staff, quiet and spacious rooms, comfortable bed and a lovely pool. Very handy for transport, activities and restaurants. Decor a little dated but our room was clean. We ate at the cafe and it was excellent.

Overall we had a pleasant stay in a very convenient and delightful part of the city but the apartment was small. Unless you picnic on the bed you have to go outside to a 'courtyard' to partake of anything cooked in the fairly functional kitchenette ( no shelf or veg box in fridge). Only one chair and nowhere to put...

The apartment we had was clean and convenient. Unfortunatelly there was no airconditioning despite promting an airconditioned facility. This meant that the window had to be open. The apartment 29 was hot and stuffy a d faced on to little Bourke Street. This proved to be noisy both at night and early in thr morning with dump trucks and deleiveries...

Great location, easy access to the city centre, tennis and the MCG. Located in a great dining precinct. Looking to bring the whole family back at Christmas time, will certainly look at staying here again.

booked a non smoking apartment online due to the location at the top end of Melbourne. On check-in the allocated room had a very strong smell of smoke which was unacceptable to me. The front office staff were relucant to resolve the issue and struggled to offer alternatives. In the end I cancelled the booking and stayed at another apartment.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
