great location nice big room but not well appointed, and poorly kept. lacked working central air-con and had lots of portable heaters, fans and fan heaters to try and make up for that. TV kept loosing reception and staff could not fix it, batheoom was very dusty and not clean (hairs on the shower walls) would not stay there again

Great location, however, the apartments although clean need a make over. Check in staff were busy but friendly and it was appreciated that we could check in early. The 2 bedroom apartment was spacious and clean, however, the washing machine had an "Out of Order" sign stuck on which was not explained at check in.

Although the location of the property is good, the standards were middling at best. Queries were dealt with late, and there were difficulties on checking out with claims that we owed them money for something we had already paid for.

Excellent and quiet hotel. Friendly staff and value for money. Triple (quality) sheets and cosy apartment. Nice ambience, with BBQ by outside pool, would be lovely in warmer months Will be back, thanks

Check which room you have first. Don't stay on the lowest level rooms next to the street unless you can sleep through anything. I stayed on the weekend, which made it worse. Rest of the hotel is fine. The street noise was the only problem, but a big one.

Check in was a bit confusing but once we were at the reception counter we were greeted by friendly staff. They then showed us to our room as it is not in the same building but not inconvenient. We had a two bedroom apartment that 5 of us shared. The apartment was huge with more than enough room for all...

Great Location, comfortable 3 / 3.5 star standard. Great for a night or two. Rooms are a little tired though very clean. Noisy neighbours thumping around upstairs meant not a good sleep, though that is not the Hotel's fault. ** Avoid the Studio rooms - small and the inter-connecting door mean you hear everything from the neighbouring room. I was...

We had a one bedroom apartment which was very spacious and comfortable. There is a full kitchen and washing machine and dryer in the one we had - really useful. The building itself is brilliant, quite quirky, and there is a swimming pool in the open air atrium. Good location: close to Chinatown, tram stop and shopping. Note to management...

Very friendly helpful staff. Located in a great part of Melbourne city centre, China town and numerous great restaurants. The hotel is in an architecturally significant building and it's very cool. There's a good swimming pool. The rooms were clean and everything was there that I needed (cooking/washing facilities) I would stay there again.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
