The hotel was clean & comfortable. Parking was convenient. Room was one of smallest I've ever been in and as such was overpriced. The bar was starting to close @ 10:30 which is pretty early for a Friday night. Overall, just ok would stay again if other options were not avalable

Old world charm, the stain glass windows were beautiful, the gym was a great bonus. The room cleaners were really nice and gave good service. The stairs were a beautiful alternative to take the time to see the charm of the old world, and were lovely to go up and down By Robyn

Was in town for a concert at 170 Russell so just a short walk away. Seriously comfy (slept in and was late getting home to SA) and a nice clean and modern environment, can't wait to stay again next time will be ordering room service

Really conveniently situated a short walk from Central station and within easy reach of shops. Walking distance or quick train ride to Darling Harbour, QVB etc. Very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant food is excellent, beds comfortable. No complaints at all really, though free wi-fi would have been nice (you get a free half hour and then have to... More

The staff, food, cleanliness and view of conference screens were excellent. The WiFi was very poor in the conference room. Basic instructions for operating appliances and information on the hotel restaurants and bars were not provided in the room.

Situated along Flinders St, there's a Metro a few blocks away. We took a deluxe room, and even so, room is alittle crammed plus we needed an additional bedding for our 9yo. Staffs were very warm & helpful though.

The beautiful heritage building was magnificent. My request for an upgrade was met and did not disappoint. The room was comfortable and the pillows were great. The view over Southbank was wonderful. The Café breakfast was good. Would have been nice to have more time just to sit and relax and have another coffee. A little rushed for the late... More

While the hotel is a bit tired it was in a great location for commuting to the Melbourne cup and partaking in some of the lane way walks in the city. There were many eateries and bars in close proximity to the hotel and we were able to spend a reasonable amount of time visiting these. We would start the... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
