Lovely modern accommodation, staff welcoming and accommodating. We received an upgrade which was unexpected. Large, comfortable bed. Room was abut dark due to no outside facing window- just the courtyard.

Deluxe rooms are not exactly deluxe but more like budget quality as many are desperately in need of refurbishment . They do have refurbished premium rooms for an increased price. The hotel has quite a central location at a reasonable price so I guess you get what you pay for. The TVs in the rooms are large flat screen are... More

A great place to stay if you are hosting or attending a conference in the city! Great service, with clean and quiet rooms located in the heart of the city of Melbourne. Pop downstairs for a relaxing drink and meal in the evening to complete your day.

Stayed here twice this year for conferences. First conference I was upgraded to the one bedroom suite which was completely delightful and comfortable-not to mention spacious. Second visit I had a standard room. This room had a see through bathroom wall so staying with a partner would be awkward unless you enjoy seeing them on the toilet. It was also... More

We booked a mystery hotel and got this one. We were upgraded, and had a large room overlooking Elizabeth st. Initially they gave us a twin room, but quickly made it to a king bed when we requested it. Staff were lovely, letting us leave our luggage and check in early as we had come from the hospital. The only... More

A stone throw away from QVM, within free tram zone, walking distance to Melbourne Central. Along the street have a few eateries that open until late night. Very convenient for tourist relying on public transport and late owls hunting for food. No complaint on the reception and room comfort. Perhaps need to improve on housekeeping service as the hand dryer... More

We stayed at the Jasper hotel during a short visit to the city of Melbourne. The hotel is located a block away from the Victoria Markets. It is a great location! Rooms are very clean, staff is friendly, and lobby bar area is fantastic!

Stayed in Jasper Hotel Melbourne Central for 1 night. Jasper Hotel is located a short walk from Melbourne Central station on the main road. The outer exterior looks like another tall building but interior is a posh/modern hotel. The reception is large, lighting slightly dim, but we were welcomed promptly. Check in is usually at 2pm but our rooms were... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
