Great location in Melbourne, was able to check in to the room nice and early prior to lunchtime and after signing up to the rewards program had a free drink and late checkout organised. Staff were helpful for my stay, will definitely return

Stayed at Rydges Melbourne at the beginning of April for the weekend. Staff at check-in were efficient and we were able to check in early than expected. The room was well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. WiFI was very good. Plenty of restaurants and bars in close proximity including the Locanda restaurant on the ground floor. Breakfast was...

Rydges Melbourne is well located for access to business CBD, theatres and restaurants. Parking directly underneath Hotel is very handy. Checkin staff not on the ball, confusing my surname for first name and claiming I didn't have a booking. Checkout also unnecessary tardy. Rooms are dated as previous reviewers have noted. Locanda restaurant and bar enjoys vibrant atmosphere and food...

Even though the hotel is centrally located, good service from staff, free breakfast for seniors with Event seniors cinebuzz card, availability of onsite restaurant and a very cheap rate, we won't stay again! The aircon in the room is old and super noisy low on the wall and the room feels airless even with it on. Our main request was...

Have stayed at Rydges quite a few times not because it's new or modern but because they offer the best deal to stay right in the middle of the city. If you take the time to join the Rydges Priority Guest Rewards, (its Free) there's the City High Dinner and Breakfast package. Which is well worth paying for and enjoying...

The hotel is in a great location right in the middle of the entertainment and restaurant precinct. The room was a reasonable size with a very very comfortable bed and a selection of pillows, sleeping was luxurious.Bathroom was adequate with a shower over the bath. All in all we were very happy with our two night stay.

I booked a 3 night stay for me and my wife for our 11 year Anniversary and found the whole hotel experience a massive let down. Firstly, when booking through Qantas frequent flyer site, the advertised room for for a queen deluxe that included free breakfast and family offer. Firstly, it wasn't free, I was charged $50 to upgrade the...

Very central location, walking distance to most venues with cabs and trams available. Consistent service, clean rooms & pleasant staff. Always find my stay regardless of which Rydges complex is always a pleasure.

The Rydges CBD Melbourne is very good. Easy access to all parts of the city either by foot or by using the trams. The central tram route is free and if you want to go further get a Myki card from any 7 / 11 store. Don't miss the Melbourne old Prison, the Melbourne Museum, Cooks cottage and the Queen...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
