I booked a 3 night stay for me and my wife for our 11 year Anniversary and found the whole hotel experience a massive let down. Firstly, when booking through Qantas frequent flyer site, the advertised room for for a queen deluxe that included free breakfast and family offer. Firstly, it wasn't free, I was charged $50 to upgrade the...

Very central location, walking distance to most venues with cabs and trams available. Consistent service, clean rooms & pleasant staff. Always find my stay regardless of which Rydges complex is always a pleasure.

The Rydges CBD Melbourne is very good. Easy access to all parts of the city either by foot or by using the trams. The central tram route is free and if you want to go further get a Myki card from any 7 / 11 store. Don't miss the Melbourne old Prison, the Melbourne Museum, Cooks cottage and the Queen...

We have come into the city for a night away! We went to Aladdin at Her Majesty's this afternoon and it was a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours!! We have a 'superior' room - very neat and clean but a little worn around the edges I must say - marks and cuts in the furniture and the...

We are long time patrons of Rydges hotels and have stayed at this one before and were looking forward to our three night break. We were thrilled to be told on arrival that we had been upgraded to a one bedroom apartment and what bliss it was. A kitchenette with dishwasher and full size refrigerator, lounge, dining table, huge bed,...

Great location. There is a car park underneath the hotel witch makes life easy. Close to the theatres. The hotel rooms itself could use some modernisation. But all in all pretty comfortable. I will return again.

PLUS: 1) Awesome location. Just a few steps from China town and theater district. 2) Breakfast was fantastic. Plenty of good quality options. 3) Restaurant staff were great. Friendly and approachable. MINUS: 1) Rooms are extremely tired. Air-con was noisy, furniture and carpets battered. 2) House keeping issues. Our room was not serviced on one day of our stay. We...

Hopped in to stay the night for a show. Was very pleasantly surprised by the warm and inviting service, which was followed through by allocation of a corner room on a high-floor providing magnificent views of the city. Room was well-appointed and clean. Booking directly through the website was painless, and the 'optional extras' (champagne / chocolates) were cleverly constructed....

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.

not so great actually. it's less the gap and more the actual material of the blinds. that was no issue for us but may be if you're after a serious sleep in.

Hello Curtis M, should the Wilson car park be full on site at Rydges Melbourne, we would recommend another Wislon car park on Bourke Street right next to Spaghetti Tree. Feel free to contact us should you have any further queries on 03 9635 1204. thank you, Amy Trengove

They don't put hold on or charge anything to your card. They only charge the amount of the stay when you check out.
