I stayed here during the week with my friend for 2 nights. The price for this place was really good and we were very happy overall with our stay. We were on a road trip so were driving in and parking the car. The hotel is down a one way lane, but if you turn into the driveway of the...

Stayed for 8nights. Pros: Excellent location, very near David Jones, Myer, Chemist, Daiso, Zara, H&M and Addias, Priceline Pharmacy, Target and etc. Free tram zones right in front of the hotel. Friendly and helpful staffs. Reliable and free wifi. Clean room. Cons: We have booked 2 rooms-1 room at L5, the other room at L6. Regardless which level we stayed,...

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were very helpful and cheerful. Always smiling and very accommodating. The location is just outside of Chinatown and is bustling with activity even at night. Shopping (fashion, groceries, convenience shops, pharmacies) within walking distance. Food (western, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean) is abundantly avaliable around the hotel. The hotel room toilets are...

Busy weekend with Adele concert and other Melbourne events. I have never seen the breakfast so busy. If you are looking for good vale this place is great, but expect a crowd. We had no trouble with booking, but it was at near capacity so wait times where a little long.

Upside - Location and staff great! Downside - black mold in the bathroom. Anyone ever hear of bleach? Otherwise very clean. Onsite restaurant okay. I couldn't get used to the Nescafe at breakfast. No brewed coffee.

Helpful and friendly staff to greet us at the reception. Very knowledgeable regarding public transport. The rooms were clean and tidy with comfortable beds. Very convenient in the middle of the City. But very quiet to sleep at night. No street noise what so ever.

The Welcome Mercure was in a fantastic location in the heart of Melbourne's CBD. The rooms were basic but clean and had the essential items. The reception staff were very helpful and the concierge had excellent knowledge of the area. The Louden on level 1 was very reasonably priced for a buffet breakfast. I would definitely stay there again.

Stayed for 4 nights recently. Unbeatable location right in the middle of Melbourne. The room is simple and functional with a nice bed and good shower. I stayed in a queen room, it might be a little small if you travel in a couple but was fine for me as a solo traveller. The wifi was good and reliable. The...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
