We stayed here for one night on a return trip through Melbourne. Great location, easy car parking, lovely room and a good pool area. . The rooms are very nicely laid out, lovely modern bathrooms and individual a/c control. We will be back and it's a great base for a Melbourne trip

I stayed here, sharing a room in a twin configuration, with a friend and colleague for the AIDS conference in July. First, the location is fine; I arrived late-ish at night having caught the Skybus into the city from the airport - the hotel is just a 5 min walk up the street, so no need to get an onward...

This hotel is in a good location and more importantly, well priced for Melbourne. The staff were very helpful, and there was good undercover parking. Malls etc. within easy walking distance, as was the train station. The value for money puts this at "Very Good" however it could be excellent if a couple of items were addressed. Unfortunately it does...

I stayed here on business and can honestly say that was the worst breakfast I have EVER had at any establishment ANYWHERE. Toast and Cereal were the only options available with weak, cold coffee. $12 well spent!

I am a big supporter of Best Western, however for Melbourne CBD this was not what we expected. The shower had mould, so clearly they don't get cleaned and scrubbed, the beds were average and our keys for the room had to be reset 3x in a week because they would not scan to give us access to our room....

We had a lovely room overlooking the city. Neat, clean and well serviced. Very surprised as to how quiet it was at night. A little bit of noise during the day due to nearby demolition/building work, but we were out most of the time. The hotel is close to trams that take you in to the CBD and the free...

The Atlantis Hotel is close by the Southern Cross Station. This is the station where the sky bus from the airport arrives and leaves. The free Citytram stops at less then 100 meters and the city is also easy to reach on foot. So the location is very good. The accommodation is also decent. You can use the swimming pool,...

My adult son and I stayed here on a recent trip to Melbourne. We were thrilled with the choice. The price was affordable and not over the top. Each room was spotless and well maintained. I was able to kick back and make a nice cuppa on our return from a busy days shopping. Was a great location, handy to...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
