The hotel is in a great spot. Transport is very handy, shops just across the road, and a few good places to eat are close too. Staff are very helpful & friendly, but the rooms leave a lot to be desired. Ours wasn't very clean, and even after 10 days, hadn't been vacuumed properly. There were no lamps, just main...

Overnighting in Melbourne on our way to Great Ocean Road, my girlfriend and I stayed at the Atlantis Hotel. The staff was helpful at check in which was quick and efficient. They offered helpful suggestions for dinner w/in walking distance. Our room was big, clean but fairly stark…devoid of the any kind of decorations. Modern furniture w/ a very utilitarian...

Recently stayed at this hotel for a convention at Etihad Stadium. Found the location to be extremely convenient. Tram stop right on the corner, with Docklands within walking distance and a supermarket and eateries across the road, as well as an Outlet shopping centre. Only downside was that the room we were given for a 7 night stay, had no...

Very neat and tidy looks newly furnished. The best hotel for less price. Staff should be trained properly, while checking in they said breakfast is included in that price. But while checking out they charge you for breakfast. When asked we don't know who said you that but breakfast will be charged extra. that's the response I got from reception...

We really enjoyed our stay at Atlantis Hotel earlier this year. Firstly it was in a most convenient location for our needs - right near LaTrobe St to catch the city circle tram, Etihad for the footy and Southern Cross Station to catch our train! The value for money was great - one of the cheaper 4 star options in...

We arrived 26th October 2014, exhausted from a day at the zoo, with a sleeping 2 year old, and tried to check in, the reception person advised us that we had already stayed there on the 24th, and that we did not have a booking for the 26th. I had phoned the previous week and made the booking, the person...

I was very impressed with the service of the desk staff, a very hipster looking and extremely complimentary guy, who was efficient and a pleasure to deal with after a big day of travelling and workshops and meetings. It was no more than 10 minutes walk up from the pier at the Docklands with my bag in tow, and only...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
