Great location, near QV markets and all the shopping. Spacious 2 bedroom apartment with lovely outlook at maple tree. Very helpful and friendly staff. Walking distance to Lygon Street restaurants and the theatre/shows and botanical gardens. With free trams throughout the cbd, handy to everything. Loved it.

I stayed for a weekend trip to Melbourne. A flight delay meant we had to do an after hours check in, which was so simple and was a great relief. The room was beautifully presented - as was the building itself - and the space was very accomodating. The room also had everything I needed. What minor issue I did... More

Firstly, please note the opening hours of the reception (it's not 24/7). Both of my friend and I must have missed that information somehow so we ended up waiting outside (about 40 minutes as ours was an early morning flight) till opening time at 8:30 a.m. It's good that the front office manager was punctual. He stored our luggage away... More

Good location within walkable distance to town. However, do not recommend for long stay as street noises can be heard at night and early morning. We had bad experience with the hotel manager. We had arrived early morning and hence we deposited our luggage with the reception, and only returned to the hotel at night. The reception was closed by... More

We spent two weeks in this hotel. We got to the holet in a rainy day after 18 hours flight, as the check in is at 2pm and we got there by 10am we have to wait which is normal, but the lady in the reception ask us to put our loggage in a locker and gave us a map... More

For the price, it was very adequate. The room was very clean. Although smaller than I am used to, at $119 per night, it was quite reasonable. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. Overall a great stay. I would definately consider returning.

Stayed six nights in a 1br apartment - excellent location, great convenience. Was given a quiet room as requested. I travelled with my daughter and elderly mother; arrived at night. Jess was there to welcome us and she made sure that my mum was comfortable. She is helpful, very friendly and attentive to customers. Room was clean (except for a... More

I spent 2 weeks in a 1 Br apartment on the 4th floor facing the side lane. The staff were very accommodating in organising a quiet location given my length of stay. Despite being in the heart of the cbd, the room was amazingly quiet. Facilities were good except for the tv reception. I would have preferred hot water in... More

We spent 4 days here in a two bedroom apartment. We found it to be very comfortable and modern with excellent proximity to transport links and walking distance to everything in the CBD. The washing machine and dishwasher were a bonus. The apartment had a small kitchen with microwave and gas hob, although there were many good restaurants close by... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
