I have stayed at Mantas before, happy with rooms and service so though nothing of booking into Manta on The Park for our stay in Melb. But sorry, Manta on Park, not again. The place is ready for the backpacker market. Rooms old and tied. Ok get that in some places but then light switches not working. Could not turn...

We had an overnight stay and staff were very accommodating and helpful. All went smoothly. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and it was very roomy for our family of 4. Location is fantastic and central. Parking was very convenient although you do have to pay (we were aware of this beforehand so no biggie) but we were able to...

Good service by staff but we were not happy with the facilities. It's very dated, especially the bathrooms and the washing machine is really really old. We also had breakfast at the hotel one morning but we were disappointed.

We were disappointed. The bathrooms, kitchen and balcony were dirty, mould in the shower and fans didn't work. Whole hotel was set to head with air-con so very hot. Also seemed lack of communication between management and staff, we booked late check out and had staff come to and call the room 4 times to see when we would leave.

Bathroom and ensuite both require attention, due to age tiles and grouting did not look clean. Lights in lining areas were left on as light switches did not turn off. Accomodation comfortable but not enough crockery in 2 room suite for 4 people. Breakfast room was understaffed and not enough food and beverages to cater for the breakfast crowd, not...

We have stayed in a few city centre hotels in Melbourne but feel this hotel is the best for several reasons. Our apartment room was spacious, clean and great views. The rate per night we got by booking directly with the hotel was fantastic as it included parking and breakfast. Parking for 24 hours, close to the hotel, is an...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mantra on the Park. We booked here instead of a motel or hotel because it allowed our almost 9 month old daughter room to lay roll crawl and play since we had to travel 3+ hrs to get there. It was beautiful and clean, the pool allowed us another bit of fun with her...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
