We stayed at the Grand Vue for 6 days last week. There was absolutely nothing to fault! Superbly decorated and spacious room with a magnificent view of the Derwent River, not to mention a well appointed bathroom. Hosts were helpful but not intrusive and hotel located in a convenient position within easy walking distance to Battery Point and Salamanca Place....

The amenities of this property are good, but the interactions with the hosts may ruin your stay. In particular the nightly (between 5.30-6.43pm during my 6 night stay) delivery of a muffin to your beside ends up being an unwelcome intrusion. John will tap lightly on the door and then enter the room, regardless of whether you are in a...

We booked the Spa suite with a harbour view for 2 couples travelling around Tassie, this was a bit of extra luxury for our last 2 nights in Hobart. The rooms were plush with excellent beds, all the extra special touches provided by a boutique hotel, and unobtrusive service. Be aware the hotel has flights of narrow stairs and may...

Room 8 has no VUE. its downstairs in the basement overlooking the lower part of the driveway. Maybe the only room in the cellar area. Room very nice and comfortable. It is not a bed and breakfast - although listed as No 1 in Hobart under B n B, and as such be prepared. The continental breakfast is $25 for...

This hotel is located in one of the best areas of Hobart. Quite yet every attraction you might wish to visit is at your door step. A short walk to excellent restaurants and coffee stops and Salamanca markets on Saturday is just a short stroll. The owners John and Annette could not be more helpful or pleasant. The room was...

We stayed for 3 nights in this wonderful establishment in Battery Point as part of our 30th Wedding Anniversary celebrations. The Room was spacious, very well presented, very comfy bed, large windows and a view of the Derwent River. The Hotel feels elegant and classy, but cosy at the same time. Its quiet neighbourhood with lots of birds to watch darting...

We stayed at this Hotel for 4 nights in March, 2016. I can highly recommend it. We had a beautiful room full of antique furniture. There is a lovely bathroom and kitchenette to prepare tea and coffee or your continental breakfasts each day. Fantastic views from our room and just a few minutes walk to Salamanca Place and not much...

We stayed at the Grande View for 4 days and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Annette and John are very friendly and they are running a small and very personal hotel in their private villa. Rooms are in top condition, must be newly renovated. The view is formidable. It is a 15 minutes walk to Hobart harbour, and only 5 minutes...

Our friend and I recently stayed a weekend here in adjoining executive water view rooms. We had intended to stay at MONA or another hotel but they were booked out. We decided to give the Grand Vue a try - we're very glad we did. When we entered the room it was a definite WOW! moment - the view of...
