Wonderful customer service - very friendly and made you feel very welcome to the city. Great location in the centre and not noisy. Rooms out the back are a bit cold with the open walkway, and the bathrooms there are also cold. Comfortable stay though

Right in the centre of town, you can walk to Salamanca waterfront, many great coffee shops, cafes, restaurants and bars with ease. The Brunswick offered drinks coffee and music nightly with a cosy atmosphere including fire place and lounge area. Bentley, the hotel/accommodation manager, was welcoming knowledgeable and helpful for all our tourist needs. He went out of his way...

Bently gave the best customer service I have ever experience. He also helped me change rooms, which I appreciated. The room I think needed an extra blanked or a fitted sheet and loose because I found myself sleeping on the mattress during the night. The showers one of them broke and the other didn't drain well I found myself showering...

For my month's stay at The Brunswick, due to my husband's hospitalisation nearby, Bentley and the staff, couldn't have been more co-operative and welcoming. The Hotel is smack dab in the centre of Hobart - built in 1867. The sandstone bar area has a cosy open fire and bonza tucker. The clean, budget accommodation has heaters, fridges, kettles, coffee etc....

This is a very very VERY low budget pub stay. It was very noisy at night due to the pub down stairs. Even though we were on the third floor. We went in March 2015 and Hobart was freezing at that time. I think the plumbing and bathrooms need some maintenance and restoration as the hot water failed after a...

Bentley and his team did their utmost to take care of me and my family when we were in Hobart because of my father's serious illness. They selected the rooms that suited us best and were v. supportive.

A backpackers hotel which also had individual rooms. Rooms very basic. No hot water in my room. Room had fridge, sink, tea/coffee making and air con. This was reflected in the price and is ideal for anyone on a budget. As it was a backpackers hotel, guest were often leaving very early in morning and could cause disturbance. Bar had...

Called in for a quick pint of the local beer and stayed for lunch. What a lunch that was! Great lunchtime menu, friendly staff and excellent beer. Try the kangaroo burger it's great. This place has some history with some of the walls dating back to the 1800's. They also do rooms which appear to cater for back packers. But...

The staff were really helpful and patient with all my questions. And there is free wifi. Once you use up your bites, you just grab a new login. The hostel is located in an old building and has its own flair. They made sure to put little decorations here and there to make it look stylish. It is still not...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Brunswick Hotel is one of the last remaining hotels that once graced Liverpool Street. Established in 1827, twenty years after the settlement of Hobart, the hotel represents an important part of this country’s social history. The Brunswick Hotel bar boosts eight different beers on tap that includes Cascade Brewery’s finest beers (the oldest brewery in Australia), an evolving section of some of Tasmanian’s premium red and white wines both by the glass and bottle. The Brunswick Hotel also provides very fairly priced Hotel rooms that are the perfect choice for a centrally located Hobart stay. Our en-suite rooms come equipped with a fridge, tea & coffee and a flat screen TV. Our restaurant headed up by one of Hobart’s premium chefs, Tony Gamble, who has produced a menu that exemplifies locally sourced produce, meat, seafood and cheeses. These dishes leads themselves to be shared between friends or indulge on some of our pub classics, such as Marrawah Steak sandwich, our own Brunswick Lamb Burger, grilled calamari and our own hand cut fries. The Brunswick Hotel is the perfect place for a casual every day lunch and dinner catch-up or unwind. Not to mention a ‘Hobart Getaway’ for the weekend. With the longest chesterfield in Tassie (second longest in the world), comfy leather booths or tradition "sit at the bar" seating, we are ready for you at Hobart’s newest friendly local hotel. ... more   less
