Neither the hall nor our room was heated sufficiently on a cold Hobart day with extra heating refused. The room heater was regulated up to a certain temperature.Had to wear jackets in our room and manager unhelpful asking us if "we knew the cost of electricity?" No porch or hall lighting to guide us. Bed squeaked with every turn. A...

Many of the reviews on her speak to unpleasant relations with the owner, Patricia. However, I've found her to be just fine--perhaps a bit overly businesslike for an inn of this size, but certainly nothing to take offense over (I'm writing this during my stay). The place is located in a nice area, the room and WC very clean and...

not the best place to stay if you want a peaceful time...rooms adequate, position very nice & close to shops, beach & casino but owner very arrogant & rude

Sandy bay is a lovely place to stay. There are shops very close by, and you are a short walk into Battery Point, Salamanca or town. I ended up staying at Louisa's Cottage, as the majority of accommodation in Hobart was booked out (late Dec). I found the place to be a little overpriced, and the owner Patricia, isn't inviting....

Louisa's Cottage is a quaint little B&B and I would love to recommend it to you. The garden is well taken care of, the bedrooms nicely decorated and the beds comfy. Breakfast was quite nice with smoked salmon on Sunday morning. However, the owner of this place, Patricia, is the opposite of what would go with this picture. From the...

Louisa's Cottage is an outstanding bed & breakfast in a convenient location in Hobart's Sandy Bay district. It is clean, the breakfast is more than just a gesture, the owner/hostess is crusty and absolutely charming. There's even parking in the back in this tight urban setting. Attention to detail -- including terrific landscaping -- is the hallmark. Definitely worth every...

I stayed in Louisa's Cottage in Aug 07, and this year when I returned to Hobart in Jan 08, Lousia's Cottage was once more time the place I have chosen. I, too, have travelled extensively, and have stayed at hotels that are known and rated as five stars; but the hospitality that I have received was from the owner of...

I wholly agree with the other reviewer, The dowager who owns this establishment was abrupt, rude - ' shut the door! shut the door!', spoke scathingly of other b & b owners and the 'horrible children next door' There were also disparaging comments about several restaurants in the area. The beds are comfortable and the place is clean and very...

We have just returned from a wonderful five days touring Tasmania. Before departing, we booked for two nights accommodation at Louisa's Cottage and were quoted a rate that we accepted. Upon arrival, we queried the rate that was on the registration form when we arrived. We were rudely advised that we were misquoted, and if we never liked it, we...
