Great location near city centre and Salamanca, lovely kitchen-well stocked and clean, warm and comfortable room, ensuite, dvd's provided for your own room and hospitable host. Quiet accommodation. Off site parking & free wi-fi. Will stay again.

The building is old and well lived in, which I personally find to be charming but understand may not be to everyones tastes. I was most impressed by the large comfortable bed, complete with electric blanket and generous doona. Location is fantastic - a short stroll down hill to Salamanca (and back up again!) and the host is lovely and... More

Beds were very clean and fresh with electric blankets and comforters. It was quiet and sleeping was good. The host, John, was friendly...very laid back. The building was well located, we could walk to most places easily although if you aren't used to hills it could be an issue. We loved Hobart and surrounding areas. Breakfast was a bit meager... Thanks John. Good beds, hot showers, smiling faces all in a good central spot. Very comfortable and thoughtful additions. Parking at the door. Loved the breakfast room with newspaper and music every morning. Very clean. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the Edinburgh for two nights 9th and 10th May 2016 and really enjoyed our stay. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were crispy clean. It was a federation building and our room was olde worlde which was done very well. The room was spotlessly clean and the bathroom had a bath and shower over the... More

My time in Hobart, 2 nights 15/16th March 2016. John I must say was an excellent host, his presence and time to make you welcome was second to none. My room I loved, I slept for 12 hours the first night, something about the atmosphere, old world, cozy, charming, reminded some what of Ireland. Breakfast was great as I'm a... More

The rooms having changed, looking very historical, maintained and owner was very friendly and inviting. Parking was very limited and access to carpark, you have to make sure you are in the right lane as this streets only have on way access.

We enjoyed our 2 day stay here. John was very welcoming and cheerful. We had booked one of the ensuite rooms and were pleased with it. It was clean and comfortable with all we needed for our stay. The place was a short walk from the Salamanca area where there was a choice of eating places. We particularly enjoyed Jack... More

We stayed for a night. The room was OK with a big attached bath. But the TV in the room was very small whose channels sometimes functions. The breakfast was bare minimum with limited choice. The only good part was that they had a car parking facility.

Visiting Tassie with our immediate family, 2 men 1 woman (they're no longer children) to celebrate a 75th birthday. Very welcoming, rooms all different and interesting with an eclectic collection of just about everything dotted around. Great communal kitchen, with fruit, cakes, biscs, tea and coffe always on tap. John a very accommodating host who politely said that he enjoyed... More
