This place has a lot going for it. Staff were above average and location is pretty good. Restaurant and bars are good. Rooms are highly compromised - large but dodgy implementation . The bathrooms in particular are compromised ; not at all well executed . We paid extra for a larger room with a view but forget about that coz...

The hotel has Interesting architecture. Our room was spacious with comfortable beds and clean. I'd stay here again. Service was fine. Valet available. The location is in Hobart CBD near the piers. Nice place.

We spend 1 night in the spa room. It is big dark room with hardly any view unless you come up right to the window. Stuffy, old bricks and rotting wood blocks, old growing in the bathroom due to poor ventilation. I was afraid something is going to come out tru all those holes in the walls between stones. Maybe...

I will be including disabled information in this review. Overall a great hotel. I love all the unique historical touches included in this hotel. It's got all the modern conveniences you want in a hotel while maintaining a character all of its own. It lives up to the pictures on its website. All of the staff are extremely friendly and...

My wife and I had a short visit to Hobart in March. We chose to stay at the Henry Jones again as we enjoyed our previous visit so much. I was an inspired choice! the position on the waterfront is the best in Hobart with ease of parking and accessibility to the attractions of Hobart. The Hotel itself is excellent...

We got upgraded to a Spa room, i.e. super large room with large (self-contained) bathroom (little privacy, though). Fantastic old bricks building, art gallery, interesting volumes. It is the exact opposite of a boring corporate hotel, with great attention to details in everything and a soul.

Small boutique hotel situated in the heart of the old wharf and marina. Easy access by walking to local restaurants, ferries, galleries, shopping and Salamanca. Friendly staff, free valet parking. Large comfortable rooms. We got the spa room with a large tub for two! Cafe, fine dining and casual dining all on site, but we walked to local restaurants and...

Stayed in many places in Hobart and this remains one of my favourite. Whilst not exactly central, nothing is too far in Hobart. The rooms are a good size and they have done an amazing job on the conversion which has blended the heritage feel and added a contemporary flavour, add the layer of art and you have a classy,...

This really is a beautiful place to stay . Really clever how they have renovated this victorian jam factory into a contemporary hotel . Our room / suite overlooking the quay was a delight with all the mod cons you could wish for. Service varied though from attentive and professional to very laid back breakfast was also a bit of...

Tried breakfast at the lounge and had the continental breakfast option. The bread option was ok, but the other offerings were poor! Especially the fresh fruits, there were watermelon, pineapple, rockmelon and green grapes. They were the worst fruits I have been given at any hotel I stayed. The grapes were old and should have been thrown away. For a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Australia's first dedicated art hotel stands proudly on Hobart's glorious waterfront. A handsome row of historic warehouses dating from the 1820s (the former IXL jam factory) have been creatively transformed into an enthralling multi-award winning first class hotel. The hotel itself is a work of art. Here you'll be fascinated by the unexpected combination of the antique and the ultra modern. ... more   less
