The only regret I have is that we didn't have more time to spend on KI so we could enjoy Demole even more. It is a very nice, roomy house - incredibly clean, perfectly equipped and makes for a most pleasant stay. The roos, possums, etc., parading outside on the deck are the ultimate KI experience and there is no...

My partner and I as well as the extended international family stayed at Graham's Demole River Retreat on the basis that we wanted to give our international guests a glimpse of the wildlife in Australia. Needless to say we were all blown away with the wildlife on display right on our door step at Demole - a truly unique experience....

What a wonderful place to stay! The house was great, larger than we expected, and the five of us fitted in comfortably. We stayed for ten days and, apart from some mandatory sightseeing to island highlights, it was bliss to stay most of the time in such a natural and unspoilt paradise. We had the best Xmas holiday we could...

We stayed for a few nights at Gaia in early December and the experience was just wonderful. The setting is spectacular and the house is beautiful: split level, two large bedrooms, large kitchen and sitting room, large windows on all sides so full of lights, and a wooden deck all around the outside. When we arrived, a mother kangaroo and...

This retreat is great for relaxing with wildlife just at your doorstep. It is very spacious and cozy which makes you feel at home. The owner, Graham is very friendly and will help you when you are in need. There will be around 7 or 8 kangaroos outside your doorstep when it is not too hot.You can get to feed...

We particularly chose to stay at Gaia because of its remote situation, Eco credentials and access to wildlife. It was such a veritable Garden of Eden (without the snakes!) that I am now writing my first ever review on Tripadvisor! We stayed for 3 nights and booked from the UK - the owner, Graham, was helpful and friendly at all...

De Mole River Retreat (or Gaia) is worth the drive in because you are rewarded with peace & quiet, visits from the local kangaroo mob (the photos on the website are accurate!) as well as breathtaking stars at night. We didn't spend much time in the day here, but used it as a base for exploring the north coast including...

We stayed three nights at Demole River Retreat - and this was truly an unique experience that will stay with us for a long time. I don`t think you will be able to find a place anything like it as when it comes to wildlife and nature. It is a pretty long drive on unsealed roads to get there, so...

Our stay at Demole was nothing less than perfect. We couldn't have picked a more idyllic place to go for that true getting back to nature experience. The longer we spent at 'Gaia', the more we fell in love with it. Graham the owner was a very hospitable and nothing was too much trouble. We'll be back. Donna & Mike...

We stayed three nights at Graham’s De Mole river retreat – and it truly is a very special place. The cabin is not a luxury accommodation with AC and Bose sound system – but it has something few other places have. A true wildlife and nature experience unlike any theme park, zoo or other manmade wildlife encounters around. You have...
