I have stayed at Annie's place in the past and apart from finding that the staff could be very rude and unfriendly i really have no complaints. However if it is now as bad as a lot of people are saying then why has it not been closed down ? By the sound of it a lot of people are...

We stayed in a double room which wasn't clean and the curtains didn't close. It was basic but big room. Everybody there was hiding behind laptops and ipads, not very welcoming.

Read these reviews and so happy I wasn't alone thinking what a dump! If I could give it a ZERO I would. Night one I thought there must be mossies in the room, by night two I was told by members of my tour group that I have been bitten by bedbugs. Upon my return to the room I packed,...

If you're looking for a lively hostel with lots of things going on and opportunities to make friends then this is a good base - they had events on most evenings. Rooms were adequate, reasonably clean but was literally just a bed and a chair with no other furnishings. The bathroom was clean enough but wasn't spotless. The communal kitchen...

This place was not great. when i arrived the staff were incredibly unhelpful and seemed to not care bout you or your stay. The people staying there were not much better they seemed to snob you off even when u chatted to them. The rooms werent too bad but bathroom facilities were dirty. had nice courtyard and kitchen area also...

The place itself looks like a home. So warm looking and cosy. But the staff, they have no customer service at all. You can tell that they are forced to be nice towards the guests. I have noticed some of the staff being sarcastic to some guests. Let me share some incidents. 1. One of the room has a baby...

I agree with the previous reviewer, do NOT stay here if you want a decent night sleep. We arrived in Adelaide on an overnight bus and were hoping to get an early night....however we were given a room that is right above the communal courtyard. Music was blasted over the speakers all day and well into the night. Outside the...

We are currently staying at Annies Place in Adelaide and really wouldnt recommend it if you 1. want to get sleep 2. want good value for your money and 3. well, I would just book somewhere else! The staff are pretty rude. The manager is abrupt and as we arrived made out it was somehow our problem that we had...

“Rooms at the back open on to courtyard so are noisy if you want the windows open on a hot night. Also, one of the double rooms at back has just a very, very tiny window and is quite sparse. You can also ask for the room with black and white pictures of topless men and women all over the wall. We didn't like it ourselves but apparently many find it tasteful. Probably depends who you're travelling with.”

“Ok i am off to Annies on a secret mission with pen and paper in hand to get to the bottom of all this as during my stay in the past i found it hard to complain about anything apart from the staff being rude and unfriendly. I will post my fair and accurate review on my return. I find it so hard to believe that we are talking about the same place that i mostly have fond memories of.”
