spent one night. loved the double door elevator, the cracked marble floor and hall ways. very quaint old style similar to Europe but cleaner. room was quite good. clean and tidy. main bed hard but single bed soft. ample pillows. bathroom clean and only spoiled because someone painted the tiles and it was peeling. staff were excellent and very friendly...

Our family friends and us booked rooms in this hotel for NYE2014. I felt embarassed cause I did the booking for all of us and by their facial response, it wasn't what they expected. I can definitely agree with the recent reviews that it is a good location, walking distance to the casino, festival theatre, elder park, and now the...

We arrived and waited for someone to check us in. When the reception did arrive she was welcoming and polite. The hotel is shabby and that is the kindest thing I can say about it. The rooms we had were dark dirty and cold. Our shower was untiled. The water out of the hot water tap was brown and disgusting....

The hotel was very dated and needed refurbishment. The lift stank even if it was the oldest in SA. The room was cold even with the heater on 24/7. Could not drawer one pair of curtains as they covered the heater. There was no extra bedding available in the room. Broken tiles in bathroom. Wish we had looked at reviews...

The hotel is centrally located near the mall and in the city centre very near to a tram station and everything is in walking distance. The hotel though is in need of some renovations. there are random passages that lead to absolutely no where and a staircase that leads you to a dead end. the elevator only goes up to...

Attended a 21st function upstairs in the balcony room. Was pleasantly surprised at quality of standard wines served. Seemed better than par for a function like this. The two young guys in charge couldn't keep The two open fires going which was a shame as these added to the ambience. Food was satisfactory run of the mill cocktail food. I...

We weren't looking for a 5 star hotel with 5 star restaurant. We wanted somewhere to stay overnight somewhere between the Central Markets and the Festival Centre, How delighted we were to be welcomed so well and given wonderful service. The people who keep this hotel going are what made our stay more than a bed overnight. The atmosphere in...

I have not stayed at this hotel, but after attending a black tie function there, I never would. I have no idea when the ball room was renovated last, but IT NEEDS TO BE. My wife and I wandered into a dank, musty overcrowded space and witnessed under dressed waiting staff (hoodies, sweaters and such), who really didn't care. The...

Wonderfully positioned in the middle of town, within a block or two of the market, dining precinct, Rundle Mall and Hindley Street nightlife, this was exactly what I was looking for. Small, old & beautiful, the hotel is full of charm with a stunning bar (incl, open fire), outside drinks/dining area, cocktail bar, pokies, great meals, balcony breakfast, and genuinely...

We traveled as a group of friends, so we booked the family suite. It was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included in our package which was lovely. The hotel has a lovely quirky historic charm to it. Our room was spacious and we really enjoyed our stay. Reception was lovel, very chatty and it easy to check in and out....
