We were a group of 16 (8 couples) and had dinner at Amici Restaurant on Hayman Island. We expected that each meal would be billed to our individual rooms and on arrival were told that they would only split the bill 5 ways, not 8. Well that didn't work for us. We were then told that because we were such a large group we could not order from the menu, but had to have a set menu which was $75 per head. In our group we had a vegetarian, a gluten free, a seafood allergy and a nut allergy, so that didn't work for us either. We ended up having a variety of pizzas which was paid for by 2 of the guests who decided that trying to work out the individual cost was too hard. We were also charged for glasses of water which I thought was a bit much. We should have booked 4 tables of 4 and then we could have ordered from the menu and had it charged to our rooms. The meal was delicious, but overall it was not a good experience.

I would give this resort 100 stars out of 5 if I could. This resort and the whole experience you get of going to Hayman is unforgettable. Hayman Island is a bucket list item for sure. I stayed with my boyfriend back in November last year and it was the best holiday of my LIFE. The service was amazing, food was outstanding, and the activities are unforgettable. It is definitely worth the extra $$ and I hope to stay again in the future (or buy one of the estates if I win the lottery). The pool is gigantic and the front of the hotel with all the palm trees reminded us a bit of Jurassic park. I’m a scuba diver and I have NEVER seen coral so healthy and vibrant in my life. The reef has so much colour to it and we saw plenty of differently coloured, beautiful fish. During the evening, you can walk across the beach and see baby sting rays. I note there a couple of reviews pinning the service of the hotel etc - I can confirm that these issues have been fixed and as people who have both worked in hospitality and customer service, we were treated with stellar care. The interior design of the rooms are stunning and extremely luxurious. Right from the start, we were met with exemplary luxury and outstanding customer service. Our transfer to the island was unforgettable - so scenic and you are spoilt by the staff with bubbles, beer and delicious food. We loved it and felt like we were in holiday mode immediately. Almost the WHOLE hotel staff came to greet us as the yacht arrived and we felt so welcome and taken care of. Our room was spectacular. We stayed in the ocean view suites and had an incredible view of both the moon rising and sun setting. I highly recommend doing the sunset cruise, Whitehaven beach trip and the hikes (bring running shoes). Our stay was amazing, and I would do anything to go back. Thank you so much Hayman for making my birthday unforgettable and I hope to be back in the future.

Where do I start..... The boat ride over was great and the staff at the airport super friendly as were the staff that came out to greet everyone. PACIFIC RESTAURANT - breakfast included each day and it’s dismal. The service is next level awful. No eye contact. They spilled our coffees EVERY time. Staff screaming at each other in the kitchen. Head waitress very stern and unfriendly. Butter is hot and melted. Bacon isn’t bacon at all. Poached eggs swimming in a sea ow water - literally. No option for a brunch Bloody Mary or mimosa. Strictly water, juice, tea and coffee. Sloppy all round. The gift shop/cafe oddly closed for 2hrs in the middle of the day. Aqua is worse! Don’t bother booking a cabana. You’ll dehydrate before you get their attention and starve before they fulfil an order, oh and the eye rolling you get should you dare ask for anything minor like salt and pepper! They even announced the kitchen couldn’t prepare anything hot for lunch as the stove had died so it was just salads, prawns, oysters and ice cream. We treated ourselves to ‘Dinner Under the Stars’....whilst the idea is cool and the view spectacular- food REALLY average and everything cold but yet wines were warm and certainly not well-paired accompaniments. Expect to wait up to half an hour between courses - seriously. Bam Bam is okay. Amici is THE standout restaurant. The social area where they have a pool table and scrabble as well as virtual golf is lovely however there was an empty wine glass and eaten apple on the shelf for five days of our stay which doesn’t say much for housekeeping. Diving on the reef was almost sad. Coral dead. Very little colour. Marine life scarce. The rooms are good and well appointed however the bedroom tv is completely blocked by the bedpost which makes zero sense. The potted indoor plants are all but dead. One would expect they’d use plants that thrive inside and/or are low maintenance but instead Pacific Restaurant in particular sees you seated amongst dead plants and only serves to reinforce their complete lack of attention to detail. One of the pots had a huge sofa cushion stuffed into it - for DAYS. This place appears to largely be run by kids who are just doing a stint between jobs. Many have only worked on Hayman for weeks. Bottom Line: High end prices for YMCA service.

We stayed in a suite overlooking the pool surrounded by lush green gardens. The view of the turquoise ocean water and white sandy beach was majestic. Staff who welcomed us were warm and friendly and went that extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. They even surprised us with champagne and sweets in our room on arrival which was a kind gesture for our anniversary. We enjoyed the cuisine and dining experience at pacific and bam bams and a casual lunch at the pool bar. Loved the ambience of the grove boutique /cafe where the staff service was consistently good. It was our favourite stop for coffee.

Breathtaking views, cool breeze, the architecture enveloped us for the many days we spent on this beautiful resort on this spectacular island. It’s amazing to see true nature up close and we loved every single minute of it. We equally enjoyed our dinner experience at each venue on the resort but out favourite was Pacific all hands down. It was refreshing to see an array of great cuisine coupled with immaculate service. I would like give a shout out to my server “Kaleem” who went above and beyond with his service discipline. Didn’t disappoint. The bloke served us for breakfast and dinner and his finesse showed how much he loves his job. Kudos! You beautiful Island we will be back soon!
