Excellent service and is owned and run by an absolute gentleman called Geoff!! We had a fantastic stay and enjoyed every minute!! Accommodation and the communal areas are spotless and views from the beach are amazing, would definitely return.

We camped only for 3 nights but we wish we could stay longer. Friendly place, the staff and everyone on the island. We paid for camping which included free use of the paddle boards and all snorkelling gear! Sea and sand was beautiful, the reef is full of life, we swam with turtles and wrestled with a reef sharks! Walks... More

From the very moment I set off the ferry on to GKI, I was greeted by the ever charming Geoff - owner and runner of the village. He immediately helped to locate my missing luggage and groceries and was a continued friendly face upon our 4 day stay. Our double bed decked tent was clean and spacious with added comfort... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and then moved to Great Keppel Hideaway for 2 nights and we preferred GKI Holiday Village because the service was more welcoming, friendlier and helpful, the cabin was more spacious and the ambience was quieter and more relaxing. There was no kitchenette in the cabin but there was an extremely well equipped kitchen for... More

We returned to Great Keppel after 16 years. The resort is a disgraceful derelict dump and the island is the better for it being gone. This time we stayed at the holiday village run by one of nature's true characters, Geoff Mercer, a 35 year resident of the island. The holiday village offers a variety of accomodation, all spotlessly clean... More

During my month of travelling up the east coast of Queensland I had the pleasure of visiting this island and staying both times in their tent style accommodation. It was great and run by some beautiful and friendly people. The place is clean, tidy, a comfy double bed and very welcoming. Leave your vehicle in security parking for $10 a... More

Arrived on Keppel in the morning and was warmly welcomed by the owner Geoff right when I got off the ferry. At the village he gave us a welcome speech and showed us around. I stayed in a twin room, which was nice and comfy. Common areas and bathrooms were clean. Kitchen was well equipped so bring your own food... More

I would really recommend this place. First impressions...The staff is very friendly and Geoff is such a lovely man! Met us off of the ferry and took our bags to our rooms for us and had a nice little welcome chat. I stayed in one of the tents and it was perfect. THE most comfy bed I've slept in in... More

We stayed the weekend. Lovely people. The accommodation was basic and a little expensive in the cabin of $180 per night for two people. No Aircon {didn't need it } but very comfortable. The only downer was the noise from the neighbours generator that goes 24 hours a day. Doors don't lock, which is fine as every person on the... More

Great self catering communal kitchen. Relaxation, peace and quiet. Backpacker level rather than resort level accommodation but clean comfortable, mostly functional, and most important for us, affordable. Free snorkelling gear and the best off the beach (shelving beach) snorkelling over coral we have ever done. Friendly and helpful hosts. BYO all food and drink as there is not much available... More
