Had a fantastic stay at Fitzroy Island Resort. Beautiful facilities included the pool, poolside bar, 2 restaurants, and STUNNING Beach. I would highly recommend the summit loop walk, starting the hike via the turtle sanctuary (there are 2 tours a day for $8/person, book early to avoid disappointment, a must do!). The hike is quite strenuous (quite steep) and about...

I’d already been to the island just for the day with a friend visiting from overseas and after having spent the Easter holidays at the resort I’d recommend just a day trip. Both times I took the Raging Thunder-Fitzroy Island Ferry and paid $75 return each. Once on the island, everything except for the Beach Hire shop is owned by...

Beautiful Beautiful Island. We snorkelled off the Island and swam with turtles. However the staff at the resort are useless. This is with exception of the tall guy who works in the restaurant, I believe his name was Tom. He was very friendly and lovely. Reception staff are unhelpful/do not appear to care about their jobs. Our room wasn't cleaned...

Overall there are better places to visit. This small island is overpriced and they charge resort guests for everything, so nothing is really included. We had to pay $160 for ferry to the island from cairns. The ferry is owned by the island so why charge resort guests for the worst ride of my life. Get ready for 45 mins...

I travelled there with my daughter. Rang specifically to say needed twin beds. When I arrived - yep a double bed... then I ask for the twin and they send in a rollaway bed. Then they say at the end of the stay that is an extra $130 because you had 5 people in your room... ?? I said there...

We stayed in a 1 BR ocean suite on the second floor for 3 nights in late March and thoroughly enjoyed it. These rooms have a kitchen, lounge and balcony and are very quiet and comfortable. In summary, I highly rate the location, the resort amenities and think the main area for improvement is in the available food options, though...

Fantastic accommodation facility set into the rainforest and integrated with the beautiful surroundings. The room on the second floor was spacious - we had a dual key set up and the main room had a full kitchen, dining table, sofa and spacious balcony looking out to the ocean, the smaller room very cosy and good for sleeping. Each had a...

We stayed at this resort for 4 days. We had 3 rooms. We brought all our food over with us, as we'd heard the options on the Island were limited, and expensive. One of our rooms had a kitchen. Overall, the Island is amazing, the Dive shop staff was wonderful, helpful and fun to go on outings with, the snorkeling...

We went to Fitzroy for a long weekend in March. The island is amazing! The room was nice though felt slightly enclosed without being on the beach side, I would also recommend a small food shop in Cairns before hand to avoid spending too much on breakfast, lunch and dinner. That said the off peak deal we used for accommodation...

We stayed on Fitzroy Island over the 2017 Easter schools holidays. Check-in took a little while as everyone disembarks from the island ferry at the same time and heads to the reception. Our room was a 1 bedroom apartment with full kitchen and washer/dryer etc., and we were on the third level so views were pretty good (but looking through...
