Very busy and I can see why! Planned on staying one night with intentions of moving to another hostel but extended it to three nights! The staff were friendly and welcoming and helped me along my way with regards to finding employment! If I'm in Townsville again I would stay again without hesitation.

I recently stayed one night at Civic Guest House whilst on my drive up to Cairns. The hostel was very tidy, clean and neat. The front desk staff were very helpful and polite. Cosy feel with good prices! Will return!!

I don't think I have ever felt this at home at a backpackers during my travels.. Even though Mrs Z and her family left South Africa many years ago, they never lost that South African hospitality. As a fellow South African, that had to be my favourite part. Truly awesome service and lovely vibe. Highly recommended!

It's a nice clean hostel and the people that works there also live there but that means there are a lot of long stayers so they make kind of there own group. I didn't spend that much time at the hostel but that was the vibe I got

I stayed here for at least 4 nights befor and after my Magnetic Island trip. The owners are all very friendly, help always and are always open for a little chat. They know the names of most of the guests. It feels a bit like home :-)! The rooms have a good air-con, some of them bathrooms and all rooms...

Stayed here for three days, was really nice, big rooms with air con, awesome WiFi and very nice staff. The kitchen was really good , big and clean, which the rest of the hostel was as well. You get value of your money at this hostel!

We stayed here for about 10 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The owner was really friendly and even upgraded us to a double room to ourselves for the same price as a 4 bed dorm just because. the kitchen gets busy but has all pans, plates provided and tea, coffee etc. The rooms are clean, have air con and...

Enjoyed my stay until a staff member was inappropriately rude to me, which left me with a bitter taste. Reef Lodge is a much better accommodation if you are looking to stay in Townsville for a couple days!!

An unfortunate incident that happened, I apologise for my staff being rude. I am happy that you found the Reef a better place to stay, too sad that they didn't have work for you when you asked them.

My boyfriend and I stayed in a double room ensuite with airconditioning. The airconditioning was great and a must for Townsville in January. The room and bathroom were both very clean on arrival and the room had more of a warm bedroom feel about it compared to other more clinical feeling hostels. The hostel itself is extremely clean. It has...
