Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

The Mantra on View Surfers Paradise hotel receives a blend of feedback from guests. While its prime location is frequently praised for beach and shop access, noise from the nightlife often disrupts the atmosphere. Travelers' opinions on value are divided, with some appreciating the affordable breakfast and others pointing to the high costs for what they consider outdated facilities. Service quality varies, with some staff members described as professional and others as unresponsive.
Room cleanliness is generally acknowledged, yet there are calls for renovations to address issues like mold and outdated decor. Amenities evoke mixed reactions; guests enjoy the views but some miss having a pool and mention soundproofing problems. Overall, noise remains a significant concern, with many guests reporting disturbances that impact their stay.

Detailed Reviews
Great location. A short stroll to the beach, local entertainment and eatery. Area was family friendly too as its adequately distanced from the crowded area. Excellent spot!
Apart from that, the hotel itself is fairly average, nothing special. A bit disappointed that they dont have a porter at the driveway or at least check in staff offering to carry luggages to the room, especially that we have baby and stroller to carry up.
Room cleanliness can be improved, found some shards of glass in the carpet though to their credit they sent up a cleaner to vacuum the carpet as soon as I requested one. Breakfast selection is okay, but almost the same every day with hardly any variation. So it gets boring pretty quickly if you're staying more than 2 nights there.
Room size & furniture is okay. A bit rundown but everything is working as it should. We did not get to try the facilities but we did use the $10 a day parking. Valet is not necessary as parking is right next door with accessible lift from inside the hotel, so its pretty easy to get in and out. Though be mindful that there's a short flight of stairs to the lift, so if you can't get past this then valet is definitely more preferable though I can't say how long it will take for the staff to bring the car to you knowing there's no dedicated staff standing by on the driveway.
All in all, for the price we paid I think it was worth it and definitely offers a great value for family.

This was my third time staying at the Mantra on View. I had previously stayed before Mantra was purchased by the Accor Group.
I was welcomed beautifully and my allocated room on the 17th floor had wonderful views to the North skyline. However I had to request to be moved as the room I was in had a very loud fan in the bathroom that ran all night as well as being really dusty which triggered an allergic reaction. The staff were very responsive to this request and I was moved the next day to a room on the south side. The view was just as good but the sun didn’t beat into the room all day which I actually preferred. The room had a new AC system and was less dusty although the outlet vent in the bathroom needed a good clean. The room was a King room with a comfy bed and small sitting area.
I was most disappointed that the hotel now has NO POOL. On previous stays I had very much enjoyed time around the large pool and it is a must for me when I stay in a hotel. I agree that the hotel is very close to the beach but it is disappointing that the pool, which was located on the rooftop of the building next door and apparently not owned by the hotel, is currently closed and under renovation. I don’t know if this means the hotel will never get it back but perhaps check when you are booking if you like to enjoy time sitting around a pool. The hotel has created a sun deck with several spas as a substitute but these were crowded and there was minimal shade so this had no appeal for me.
The bar and restaurant is also closed due to COVID. I also thought this was a bit strange as many, many other nearby hotels have managed to re open their bar areas. I also remembered the bar being a nice spot for an after work drink so I found this a little disappointing as well.
The hotel is in a very good location and close to the G Link Tram station so it is easily accessible from Gold Coast Airport or Brisbane. Overall I was a little disappointed in my stay based on previous marvellous stays. I like a pool when I stay in a hotel so I probably wouldn’t stay again. If that doesn’t matter to you give the hotel a go but do try and get a room on a high floor.

This hotel was great! Check in easy and Check out even easier with the express checkout option if you have prepaid for your room. It's a hotel located almost behind the main drag of Surfers but it's metres away from the beach and main shop/entertainment area.
Room located on the 12th Floor- lifts worked great and were fast. My room looked out onto a side view of the ocean and was big enough for a table and two chairs. Room serviced daily and the tv had Foxtel (bonus)
What I enjoyed most about this place however, is the friendly reception staff and cleaners who really went above and beyond especially when we got told we would be locking down again due to Covid. The staff were helpful and engaging to try and help me seek alternative accommodation as I wanted to remain in Queensland instead of returning home to Victoria to go into a hard lockdown.
The room was clean, the air con worked great, the water pressure was 50/50 however hot.
My only gripe was you had to pay for the Internet..even though they had Free Wifi it dropped out all the time which was annoying!

The hotel had been booked for us by family for a wedding. I checked the reviews prior to the visit and then spoke to the hotel. The pool area and tennis courts space is be redeveloped so those who had stayed there earlier or were expecting to be able to access those areas based on hotel photos may have been disappointed. As we were catching up with facility and going to the wedding the location was great just a. few minutes walk from Surfers, especially as my father is not very mobile. The beach is also just a few minutes away which was handy for a quick swim. We were in a high room which had an amazing view of the beach and all around the coast, plus a lovely breeze. The rooms were clean and serviced each day. There was a short wait on check in but most of that was related to the COVID paperwork. Parking is next to the hotel in a public car park but there is a voucher system for hotel guests which allows you to get out of the car park free, but to pay $10 day at the hotel. There is direct entry to the hotel from the car park lift.

Overall I was very disappointed with the quality and condition of the room. The furniture was very old literally felt like it was picked up from a garage of an old house. Shower was the worst of all. It was literally broken. Air conditioning panel required you to use force of a machine before you could move the temperature up or down. Imagine feeling cold/warm middle of the night and then going to adjust the temperature. The beds on the other hand were very uncomfortable - my wife had see her physiotherapist right after we returned home. I won’t complain about not having drinking water in the room not even a single bottle. Hilton has refillable bottles in every room and a water gallon installed on every floor. I would certainly not feel home where there is no water to drink.

We stayed for 6 nights. Very good location, excellent pools and pool area. Tennis courts and surrounds are under renovation and fenced off but unless you really want to play tennis not a great loss. Gym is very basic. Less than 5 minute walk from the beach. About 3 blocks from Cavill Ave. Service was very good and the staff were very friendly and accommodating of requests. The carpark is conveniently located and has direct lift access to the hotel. The cost is reasonable at only $10 per night. It is an older hotel and is looking rough around the edges in places however in general is excellent value for money. We paid $1400 for 6 nights which in peak season is a very good price for what you get here.

Recently stayed at Mantra on View, Surfers paradise. Room was clean, same with the bathroom. The room had a balcony, which was great, not a lot of hotels around the world do. Not a lot of time was spent in the room itself obviously, however the tv had 4 movie channels from foxtel, that was awesome. Sleeping was easy blinds completely blacked out any light, the bed was comfortable same with the pillows. Internet was not the best, and your limited to 5 gigs for the whole stay, so no netflix or amazon unless you want to pay quite a bit of money for it. Surprisingly no noise, the hotel was pretty full however the rooms were very well soundproofed. Special thanks for the manager for helping me out at the start of my stay.

As mentioned in previous posts this Hotel is the Worst !!!! and should be avoided at all costs.100% agree with Juliet.
The back of the invoice state how good there cleaning and covid 19 standards are yet when you walk into the room they are unclean and flithy, something you would expect from a 1 star backpackers hostel. We needed the cleaners to come back there was so much dirt left in the fridge and in bathroom. They offered us another room , but that could have been just as dirty as the original room. They seem to be short staffed on cleaners and they could not remember the number of people in the room and we would have to call for extra towels etc , which were brought up promptly. Our rooms were serviced but around 4:30 pm in the afternoon once we rang down to reception to ask if they were still coming. The wall were chipped and had missing paint. DO NOT GET FOOLED by the pictures of the pool there is NO POOL except for a paid Adults only pool. There is 4 spas , that are all broken and do not warm the water and only 2 of the 4 bubbled. They have big area which is covered in fake grass which could fit a pool but is just a waste of space. Customer service is non existence and if you have an issue , you need to keep following it up. Do not bother reporting issues to Georgia one of the managers she is hopeless and just smiles and says she will do something, The Men are a lot better at handling issues. It is a shame as this hotel has so much potential, so close to the beach , views , my kids like watching the people go on the super sling but this hotel is let down by the fact there is no pool and the lack of cleaning staff and customer service support.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Mantra on View. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. I do want to apologise again in regards to the cleanliness of your room. I will be bringing this to the attention of our Housekeeping supervisors to ensure the same issue isn't experienced by another guest. In regards to the pool unfortunately we have lost the lease to this area for over a year now. We desperately wanted to keep this area but it was leased out to another external company and has now since been renovated into the Cali Beach Club. We have taken off all pictures and mentions of the pool on our website and third-party sites. Unfortunately websites like TripAdvisor and Google will show historic photos from past guest. This can be confusing as they still show the pool area but unfortunately we are unable to take these down as they are not owned by us. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future.

Stayed for a blokes weekend, easy to find and plenty of parking. 100 meters to the beach. 10 mins walk to Cavill Avenue clubs, restaurants, bars and attractions. Hotel is roomy, modern and clean. Bar and restaurant on site. The rooms have good views of the ocean from a small balcony and bathrooms are well kept. Excellent for family weekend getaways.

I am here now waiting for check in for over an hour and still not near the front of this insane line. People had tried to check in earlier and of course were given mantra’s typical line of “sorry we do not have a room cleaned right now you’ll have to come back at 2pm”. Why does mantra always do this? Especially in COVID times and they’ll have hundreds of people checking in at once. Why not stagger it to be safe and stop the hassle for all their guests. Please take note of photo with COVID form and only used pens available. Huge line for elevator too does not make you enjoy your holiday at all. If you are going to make everyone strictly check in at that time, at least have enough check in staff to Handle the huge amount of people. Would never stay again.

Dear griggja1, I am really sorry that you experienced such a lengthy delay when you arrived. We do try to stagger arrivals as much as possible but if we are full the night before it does make it difficult to get people in early. I appreciate your frustration with the lifts but we all need to abide by the physical distancing guidelines which means cutting lift capacity to a safe number. Kind regards Steve

HI
Just stayed at Mantra on View
Breakfast was $25 with a voucher from reception
The breakfast was buffet and it was ok
HI There, I found the staff to be very accommodating, the rooms don't come with microwaves, however Im sure if you asked reception if you can access one, they would oblige.
I'm not sure but there was always 'someone' in swimming.
