pool was big and kids area was at one end! The room was decent - nothing special, the bar fridge was VERY loud though. The room tempreture was really hot, almost like the A/C wasn't working. My biggest issue was having to wait at the...More
We stayed nine days and have no real complaints. The best features of the hotel were the pool and the breakfasts. The room was well equipt and the bed comfortable, but overall was showing its age. Evening dining in the restaurant was a pretty sterile...More

You are 1 block (250m) from the Esplanade - fronts the ocean. This is not a swimming area due to crocs and stingers. However just a few 100m on there is a very large waterfront pool/BBQ/boardwalk area which has families, tourists, etc all year round. Beautiful. Swimming beaches where you can walk on a sandy beach and swim in a netted enclosure are dotted along Cairns northern suburbs 10-30mins by car. Trinity beach; Yorkeys knob are lovely - palm cove my favourite. Accomodation available at all three but you would need a hire car if wanting to go to all tourist places.
