Lucerne on Fernberg is a great B & B. Fine accommodation, quietly located in a great part of Brisbane. We enjoyed the comfort of its well appointed charm, nestled in the historic homestead's private grounds. Hosts Brian and Helen were very welcoming to make our stay even more enjoyable. Ever picked a place to stay from website information and testimonials,...

Stayed at Lucerne early Dec. The reviews on tripadviser were all very positive so we booked a 2 night stay. The room we had was superb with great facilities. Brian and Megan were great hosts and as we travel to Brisbane often we are pleased to have found such a great place to stay. All the reviews talk about the...

When we self-arranged our first trip to Australia, we never thought how very much we'd learn to love Oz. We've just arrived back in the United States - after our 3rd trip - and ALL the previous accolades we gave to Brian and Helen, owners of Lucerne on Fernberg, remain ones of complete delight. I have to admit that we...

This is a terrific place to stay in Brisbane. I was in Rose Cottage and found it very comfortable; the homey-ness of it and the peace and quiet made it very restful. Brian is the kind of host who truly makes you feel welcome. I would highly recommend this place in particular to foreign tourists looking for a more in-depth...

We stayed 3 nights in the Coach house and everything was just wonderful. Brian is a fantastic host always helpful, approachable and just a lovely person! The Coach house was spotless with a small kitchen on the ground floor well-stocked with everything you need for a good breakfast (cereals, milk, eggs, cheese, butter, vegemite, honey, peanut butter, tea, coffee, juice,...

Rose cottage in the grounds of Lucerne on Fernberg is a great location in its own right and so covenient for central Brisbane-only 2 stops on the train from nearby Milton station. We appreciated the peace and quiet of being able to cater for ourselves with free range eggs laid by the owner's chickens, fresh fruit and home made bread....

Rose Cottage is fully self contained, well furnished and in a fabulous secure location. Breakfast, including eggs from their own chickens, is included in the price and the owner, Brian Hollins, is extremely friendly and helpful - goiing that extra mile to make the stay more enjoyable. I would recommend it to anyone, be it a holiday or business trip,...

We stopped off in Brisbane for two nights coming from Cairns on our way to Rainbow Beach. The stay at Lucerne made us wish we were here for longer. -We stayed in the Rose Cottage beside the main historic house in a fenced in garden area. -We felt very safe, with privacy, yet near to transport, shops, etc. -We had...

I had to find somewhere to stay in Brisbane at short notice and was lucky to have 2 nights in the very comfortable Coach House. It is very thoughtfully kitted out upstairs, and the cute kitchen nook downstairs is very well equipped I would gladly have stayed longer! Not only was the accommodation all you could want in a home...

We stayed here in August (end of winter) for our friends' wedding and spent the weekend recommending it to other travelers. The host, Brian, is one of the kindest (and funniest) B&B owners we've come across. The Rose cottage is spacious and decorated with antique furniture (which is gorgeous but made it a little scary to relax on). You make...

“The Coach House was just perfect for my daughter and I to stay in, as stairs are not a problem for either of us. But the larger, and slightly more expensive, Rose Cottage is even more charming and is handicapped accessible as well.”

“There are two separate self-contained cottages. Thus, one can have complete privacy and the loo, kitchen, main room (each away from the other) provide everything one needs. The frig is stocked with juices, eggs, cheese, butter and much more. Either the Coach House or the Rose Cottage would be swell.”
