Currently traveling up the east coast and have stayed in numerous hostels but none as bad as this. The beds require a tonne of WD40, the slightest movement and the whole room will be awake. The kitchen is ridiculously small for the amount of people staying here. 3 cookers and only 4 rings working, deposit for cutlery and a mug...

Staff were friendly and the bathrooms and kitchen were clean. However we stayed in an 8 bed dorm with 6 others who had been there for over 2 months so the room was a mess with stuff everywhere. We were only staying for two nights so would have preferred to have been put into a room with other short term...

The staff are very friendly and helpful and my room was clean, however it is VERY noisy and the bathrooms were pretty grim, only two showers on the floor were functioning, and even then only barely! Not great!

when i envision hell, i will now envision nomads central brisbane. i have never walked into a place and so instantly had such a bad feeling. this hostel was completely run down and looked like a prison or a poorly refurbished mental institution. there was absolutely no security meaning that anyone could walk in and have easy access to any...

The reception staff were really helpful and friendly. I asked one of the girls at the reception desk what she would recommend to do in Brisbane, she was knowledgeable and gave me helpful direction and advice on what order to do things (and which things were free). The kitchen was clean whenever i used it, but i only used it...

Good hostel as hostels go for facilities but so loud at night that I struggled to sleep even though I was on level 4. I would recommend to people who are partying anyway only. Still great location, especially for getting the train to the airport.

The people at the reception were not very hospitable. There could be more of a personal touch. The rooms were very noisy in the night. The place was in the centre that was very nice and easy. It was okay for the time being but wouldn't go back again.

good location, quite clean but noisy as hell at night. I think we had the worst dorm because it was right next to the bar and under many stairs (the kind that make a lot of noise). I'm usually a hard sleeper and the two nights I spent there we're probably my worst. Good for price and location but I...

We stayed two nights in a double room without bathroom. The building is very old, so above each door there is a part with kind of wholes so you hear everybody walking past your door or talking. Good I had ear plugs with me... I must say excellent location. No free wifi (as in every base backpackers).

Staff were so helpful and really went the extra mile for us. Particularly Hannah, who was so helpful when we had some problems, so thanks Hannah! Great customer service! Showers were great, breakfast was really nice and it's in a perfect location right in the centre of the city.

Nomads Brisbane has everything a backpacker could want, with our five floors offering a wide variety of rooms to appeal to everyone from the newly-arrived to the newly-wed, including dormitory and private rooms. All rooms are secured via electronic keycards, while you can keep your valuables doubly secured with our supplied lockers. Linen is also provided so there's no need to bring your sleeping bag! But that's not all. Our rooftop terrace is the place in the Brisbane CBD to catch some sun, chill out, have a BBQ or just watch the world go by while you wait for your laundry in one of our three laundry rooms. If the sun's not your thing then we also have common areas to kick back, relax, and get some quality tv time; that or cook up a feast in our guest kitchen! If you're looking for work, why not let our Job Club give you a nudge in the right direction? Likewise, our friendly travel desk staff don't just know everything about the beautiful South-East Queensland - they can give you advice about anywhere in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific! Downstairs the Down Under Bar is where you can go full on, flat out! Come on down to Brisbane's most famous backpacker bar where you can win great prizes, dance the night away, or even meet Mr/Mrs Right (or Mr/Mrs Right Now!). If you're after something a little quieter then our Zi Bar does great food and coffee, with regular functions to keep you entertained. Dormitories are available to genuine backpackers only.
