I guess you need hotels like this near natural wonders, but this place just processes tourists mechanically. There are other hotels in the resort and they are better and worse but the general impression I get is tired decor, uncomfortable beds (back aches, three nights in a row),

Dear Christine B We are are so sorry to read that your experience at Ayers Rock Resort did not meet expectations. I would like to assure you that it is always our goal to provide the best possible base from which to explore this beautiful part of Australia and it is therefore extremely disappointing that this was not your experience. It may be of interest to know that Ayers Rock Resort is owned by the Indigenous Land Corporation and one of our key responsibilities is to promote and sustain eco-tourism, protecting pristine sites for many years to come. Ayers Rock Resort offers employment and training opportunities to the local and broader Australian and Torres-Strait Islander Indigenous communities with all profits from business activities re-invested directly and indirectly in the Indigenous and resort experiences and through various training and development programs in place around Australia. It is therefore important to us to ensure our guests enjoy their experience and I hope that you were able to speak with one of my management team during your stay to discuss your personal concerns. Kind Regards Riaz Mahmood General Manager Sails in the Desert

Will anywhere be open to have breakfast/lunch on Christmas Day?
Hi Lisa T Ayers Rock Resort operates regular hours for breakfast on Christmas Day. Additionally, there are range of special options for Christmas lunch and I would recommend contacting the Voyages Travel Centre to book in advance. Kind Regards Customer Relations Ayers Rock Resort

Hi, can anyone recommend the best company to book a helicopter trip over Uluru please..there seems to be quite a few to choose from. Thanks
Hi lisamwalker2008 There are two helicopter companies operating a range of flight options around Uluru & Kata Tjuta. Professional Helicopter Services and Ayers Rock Helicopters. I highly recommend contacting Ayers Rock Resort's official reservations team, the Voyages Travel Centre where the team can discuss the best option to suit your requirements. What was your favourite activity? I'm going next week, staying at sails for my 50 th birthday. Have booked segway tour and was thinking of field of lights but read mixed reviews. Thanks
Happy Birthday! I hope you enjoy your trip! Field of Lights was lovely - we enjoyed the canapés whilst watching the sunset and then took a peaceful walk through the field. It is subtle (albeit on a big scale), but I thought it was beautiful and was pleased we did it. We also love the SEIT tours - smaller groups made a huge difference to being on a big tour bus. I can recommend the two we did - SEIT Kata Tjuta (sunrise) and SEIT Uluru (sunset).

How to go to Uluru from the Sail of desert resort?
We hired a car for the time we were there, which was 5 nights. This worked out cheaper than organised tours. There are tours that take in Uluru, Kings Canyon, Kata Tjuta etc. Resort has info or you can look into these prior to leaving for Uluru - latter may be cheaper? I have been to he Red Centre a few times and I always enjoy the experience. I wish you an amazing holiday!
