This is a relatively new offering by the owners of the Kings Creek Station and my first experience of luxury camping. On the recommendation of or most excellent tour guide we stayed here in preference to the Kings Creek Resort. Our "tent" was wonderfully located overlooking this vast functioning cattle station. It was comfortably appointed with all the expected comforts...

We had the best night in the old drover's camp. Three of us swagging under the stars. The boys cooked us a fish supper around the fire before leaving us to it for the night. The perfect place to experience the stillness and the solitude of the outback.

We spent 2 nights here at Kings Creek, The Staff here are excellent, friendly, relaxed organised, professional. The grounds were well Kept. Accommodation clean and comfortable. Shared Bathroom which was adequate, no air con in cabins so a little warm. But the experience here was well worth these minor details. You could stay in cabins or on camp ground with tent or your own RV. The...

All you could need for camping within reach of King's Canyon. Clean facilities and quiet surroundings. As with all things in this area, nothing's cheap including food and drinks. Diesel prices comparable. Watch out for the ants! Great sunsets to enjoy.

Staying at Kings Creek Station enabled us to make an early morning start on a rim walk of Kings Canyon, essential timing in the heat of summer. We were accommodated in a safari tent, which was comfortable enough for our short stay. The tent has a cooler, which brought the temperature down to a pleasant level for sleeping. The tent...

We stopped here for fuel on our way out of Kings Canyon - the price was a bit cheaper than at Kings Canyon resort and we also wanted to have a bit of a look around. The atmosphere felt great and it looked like it would have been a nice place to stay. The store at the front was well...

I stayed here in December as part of a contiki tour, it had been raining heavily prior to the trip but the staff were amazing and accommodated our wishes to sleep outdoors! We slept in swags under a small enclosure and it was great! The dinner and breakfast served was lovely, spaghetti bolognese and bacon and eggs. Couldn't fault our...

If you want an authentic camping experience, this place is the one to choose. Feels like you are in the outback but have all the necessities you need! Not the best food, but the men on the station are really friendly and helpful. We also saw camels on the station!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Ian and Lyn Conway established Kings Creek Station in 1981. The station lies 36 kilometres from the magnificent Kings Canyon (Watarrka) and is set amongst majestic desert oaks. Kings Creek Station is a working cattle/camel station with facilities for camping, accommodation and an opportunity to experience the outback either by quad (4 wheel motorbike), helicopter or camel. Basic supplies, meals and drinks can be bought at the station shop. You could even try one of our famous Kings Creek camel burgers!!!! The station is the largest exporter of wild camels in Australia and sells camels for live export, live domestic sales and meat. 37 documentaries have been filmed at Kings Creek and the station hosted Australian Geographics' fourth expedition. In 2001 the world famous Australian Safari travelled through and stayed at the station. Kings Creek Station has also been featured on 7 Sunrise Weather hosted by Grant Denyer in 2012. ... more   less
