When we arrived there was a big smelly rubbish bin sitting outside the hotel entrance, which was a bad way to start. The room was nice - had a futuristic, no handles look. The bathroom is very modern and recently done up, but the sleeping area could do with an update to match. In spite of being quite close to...

we stayed for 3 nights, and it has been a real pleasure for us. very helpful staff , and very polite, good size room, the bathroom was modern, the t.v. was not the latest range in the market, but we were out and about every day, so it did not matter. very good value for money, great location, plenty restaurant around...

I booked a room according to photo's that I saw from the room and the hotel. When I arrived, it took half an hour for the staff to sit us out. So slow. ..I entered the room and it was the most horrible thing they I had seen in my life. Dirty, concrete floor! !! you should see the tv....

I've stayed at Valentine on George on a couple of occasions and have found the location very convenient, and offering good value for money for a property in Sydney at this rating. The modern style of decor and furnishings make for a nice change from some of the more bland/generic offerings frequently encountered at other hotels.

Good value for money for a clean, modern, comfortable hotel in an excellent, central location. The room was well furnished and clean, the bathroom was nice and the bed was big and comfortable. By no means luxury accommodation, but very good value for money and an acceptable price. Well equipped with towels and extra blankets, as well as an iron....

My partner and I stayed in a standard king suite at Valentine on George. We had a corner room which was great for natural light and a view. The layout of the room was very practical, bathroom at one end, tv in the centre and bed at the other end. The bathroom was clean and very spacious. The desk, iron,...

Just did an overnight at this property. Great location for all things Surry Hills / Newtwon based but also super centrally located for railway, light rail and bus public transport system. Really well priced, modern rooms. Super quiet for its location - as others have stated church bells sound from 8am but that's still not a bad way to be...

I have stayed at the Valentine a couple of times now, and I am a fan. Tucked away near Haymarket, it has a brilliant inner city location (especially handy if you're using trains, as it's very close to Central Station). Modern room (I had the same one both times), great shower, comfortable bed, small hotel. Some carpet on the standard...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Tiger-flanked archways on Dixon Street mark the entrance to the “little Asia” of Sydney. A walk through Chinatown is a feast for the senses where aromas, tastes, sounds and visions of dancing tigers transport you to a different world. Chinatown visitors can expect a melting pot of Asian food at the neighbourhood's specialty delis and groceries. From yum cha to handmade noodles, BBQ ducks hanging in the window to Asian sweets and bakeries, there is something for all tastes. Paddy’s Markets is the largest flea market in Sydney where you can find souvenirs, clothing, gifts and fruit and vegetables at unbeatable prices. At night, Chinatown comes alive with entertainment including theatre, nightclubs and bars that are open until the early morning.
