Hotel has many steps...request a room which has level access from the lift...otherwise a very nice place to stay and walk to many cafes and train station. Good Value for crazy Sydney prices and rooms are spotless

I read the reviews about the rooms being small & chose a king room- it was the size of a standard european room. The bathroom was galley shaped with a shower at the far end- all new looking in good working order. I disliked hitting my knees as I sat on the toilet. One night I was woken by someone...

We chose Hotel Challis on the recommendation of a friend and because it was fairly close to Paddington where our son, daughter-in-law and grand daughter live. The room was very clean and quiet and we would stay at the Challis again if our visit to Sydney was no more than three days. Cafes and restaurants and shops are a very...

My friend and I stayed here during our stay in Sydney. This is the best location that you can get. It is accessible to public transportation but we just usually take the trains. It's around 5-10 mins away from Kings Cross station. I recommend to walk at Victoria St because it's more quiet. The rooms are clean and very nice....

I chose this hotel for the excellent location and value for money. The customer service was also excellent. Lots of great restaurants and bars nearby to choose from. Everything is within walking distance.

Well located and nice, the hotel could be excellent if the service be at the same level. We enjoy our stay here, the area is very nice with a lot of café and restaurant and pretty easy to reach the center of the town from the Hotel.

We enjoyed the proximity to local eateries, and to the downtown area/opera house via botanical gardens (a bit of a walk but very pleasant). Very nice room, although note that rooms facing the street can be noisy due to traffic and local residents.

Situated on leafy street, we took the best room 301 on top floor with balcony. It was spacious with tea and coffee facilities, which were welcome in view of the fact no breakfasts are served in hitel. The bed was very confortable.

Dear An0therday, Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel and your experience. The balcony room you chose for your stay is one of the best in the property and we are glad you liked that. Was in Sydney for 4 days to attend conference located at Darling Harbour. Chose this hotel so I had an interesting walk or public transport alternative. Hotel is close to excellent restaurants at Potts Point, and La Buvet morning cafes at one end of Challis Ave. At other end of Challis Ave you get view of Sydney Harbour Bridge and...

Throughly enjoyed our stay. Room space was adequate for two people. Daily housekeeping was exceptional. Room is clean, tidy and the bathroom spotless. Front desk was helpful in booking tours and airport shuttle. Location is great. Amenities were plentiful e.g - food, laundry, restaurants and pharmacies and public transport.
