ADGE Hotel & Residences stands out for its modern and colorful atmosphere, with guests often lauding the funky and inviting decor of its well-furnished rooms. The hotel's prime Sydney location is frequently praised as ideal for exploring the city, though opinions on value and service are mixed, with some travelers finding unexpected charges and experiencing service inconsistencies.
While the comfort and design of the rooms are highlights, cleanliness and maintenance issues have been noted, suggesting a need for more meticulous upkeep.

Detailed Reviews
We returned from overseas and needed somewhere to live for two weeks. This apart-hotel was in a great location near Oxford Street. Both the Aldi and IGA supermarkets were close by, and both Moore Park and Hyde Park were a short walk away. But the best thing about this place were the staff, who bent over backwards to accommodate all our needs – even allowing us to switch rooms mid-stay. My tip: the higher up the floor, the quieter it is, and on the front side of the building, although you hear more traffic (not much), you are further away from a nearby building site.

The place is perfect for my family of 4. There were 2 rooms, 2 toilet and bath, livingroom, dining room and mini kitchen with complete wares. comfortable beds and strong water pressure. The apartment has laundry washer and dryer and dish washer. The area is very peaceful and quiet during the night but near to bus stations. Lots of cafe and restaurants around and there are mini grocery stores nearby. Everything seems to be walkable,
Maybe to lower the price of the stay, they made the room cleaning an option with choices of what kind of cleaning you want with corresponding rates. My suggestion is to provide change of towels as part of the regular room rates and to provide a station where we can exchange soiled towels to new ones just like the aprtments in Japan.
We had a great time staying in the Hotel.

We had an unexpected urgent trip to Sydney CBD during COVID 19. We were lucky to stumble across Adge apartments. From point of check in we knew that their hygiene and cleanliness was more than required with the pandemic. We stayed in a 2 bedroom city view room which was awesome....very spacious, great view and all of the facilities we needed for our stay.
We had to extend our stay a number of times and the team were always able to sort us out ans were very flexible with our last minute changes to our booking.
We cannot recommend the apartments highly enough, and we can't wait to be back under better circumstances and without the pandemic so we can enjoy the stay.
Thnakyou Steve and team!

No longer the hotel it was. No room inclusions you get a notice in the room if you require any clean or toiletries top up for extra charges see below, which would be ok if you knew in advance. The noise from construction next door is so loud you can’t hear yourself speak inside the room. Reception is only attending from 10am - 6pm pity if you need anything. None of this mentioned on the site or when booking.

Our family began staying at The Adge when it first opened. It was funky, fresh and upbeat. We stayed for business and family reasons. Having come back after a couple of years away we were disappointed to find a somewhat tired version of what was truly special.
The furniture showed wear, the appliances scratched (the fridge door sagged, and the remote was patchy at best and the channels did not all tune in) the lobby walls showed soot weathering and a couple of tears in the fabric. Tolerable, trivial and expected in budget accommodation but not in a facility which continues to sell itself as 5 star.
Even allowing for covid restricions - for 5 star prices a guest should not have to pay (dearly) for housecleaning if staying for more than one day. The individual welcome messages, turn down service and cheese board are also gone but the price remains.
I'm afraid the funky ADGE has left us with a reminder of what once was. Shame really we really used to like what WAs a special little hotel once upon a time.

This hotel seemed promising but did not live up to the previous reviews, or maybe we just got them on a bad week.
Firstly we booked a room for 5 nights, and we had no natural light. The room literally looked out onto the brick wall of another building with people living in either apartments or hotel rooms, so we also had to keep our curtains drawn so we had privacy and the other people did too. Without a light on it was dark, and with the curtains having to be drawn it was claustrophobic.
The second issues was that we had no room service until we asked. We had no toilet paper left and the beds were not made up, no rubbish bins cleared and we were not offered fresh towels until I went to reception and asked why the room had not been serviced. The chap at reception argued with me and said it had been, that all room are serviced daily. I explained that this is day 2 and I had left the sign on the door requesting a service a we have not had anyone come to our room and requested a freshen up. I was in the room when the attendant came in, and when she entered she asked me what did I want?!? I proceeded to ask for some toilet paper and some fresh towels and for the beds to be made, she said she does not do that. It was a really uncomfortable situation.
There is no food available on site, the restaurant/cafe downstairs was closed and you needed to walk to Crown Street to get a cold drink or some food.
The location is great and there is lots to see and do simply by walking, but the room felt like a cell and I was very disappointed that we had to keep the air conditioning on the whole time to moderate temperature without any fresh air or natural light.
The other warning I offer is the car park. It is VERY steep and VERY tight to drive in. It is only wide enough for one car to drive in at a time, so when we arrived after 11 hours of driving, we had to back up on he very steep and narrow incline to let a tradie out who had finished for the day. If you are not a confident driver I suggest you do not tackle this space as it is steep, tight and the car spaces are very awkward to get in and out of because of the narrow space. My advice is go right to the bottom out of everyone's way and leave your car there. We did not take it out over the entire week to avoid trying to get back in after negotiating our way out.
On top of accommodation and car parking you are looking at $1500 minimum so for that I thought it would be a nicer stay. I cannot recommend the Adge.

Hi Thank you for your feedback and review of the hotel as it’s through feedback the hotel continues to improve. I am sorry that you found the room not with a positive outlook as we have many different outlooks and even some rooms with balconies that you can see the tops of the Opera house. The standard of housekeeping on this occasion was not to the usual hotel standards which the Executive housekeeper and team apologised for. The hotel cafe opens 6am daily to 3pm and then we will soon also have a new bar and restaurant open for evening meals. The car park is tight and we don have this advertised not suitable for large vehicles I do hope you come back and give the hotel another chance

What a terrible stay, this motel has no parking now at all, this never use to be the case, arrived in the pouring rain, motel manager had left, keys in letter box, but know where to park, very stressful. Our stay was for 2 nights, if you wanted your bed made up it was an extra $50, the rooms weren't cheap, $400 + per night, on departure, the manager repeatedly called our room asking us to vacate at 1 minute past 10am, the came banging on our door.
we definitely wont be back.

Dear eeanw2016, Let me reassure you that we appreciate guest feed back in every instance. As is with many things, recollection's can differ. I did check the price you paid on Booking.com and it is no where need the $400.00 stated in your review. At the present moment and under current circumstance's we are promoting contactless check-in, ( letter box key pick up ) their is 15 minute parking 10 meters from the front door of ADGE and apologies is you did not see or were not told this. We have automated phone records and you are correct in saying that your apartment was called ( it was at 10.38 am check out time is 10.30 am ) and their was no answer. This was done once and as their was no answer, I myself attended the apartment, as we believed that you had departed. It is customary to knock ( even if we believe guests have departed) I was just about enter after knocking 3 times when a gentleman answered the door. Again apologies as we believed that you had departed. We do deliver departure letters with departure times on the morning of departure, guests are welcome to call reception and request a later check-out. Myself and staff pride ourselves on guest satisfaction, we have a strong passion for making our guests stay as enjoyable as possible and can only say I regret that we did not on this occasion meet your expectations. Kind regards

I wanted to stay in a place that was near my son's apartment and the CBD, but not too loud or busy. ADGE fit the bill. In terms of location, it's hard to beat -- within walking distance of restaurants, parks, and museums. The rooms are spacious, and the kitchenette/dining area/living space just allowed you to stretch even more. Having a washer & dryer in the apartment allowed me to go back home with clean clothes, a real bonus.

I've stayed in literally hundreds of hotels around the world, the vast majority in the course of my work. The Adge is the closest I've come to being the complete package.
Perfect location, discreet ambience, quirky without being OTT, comfortable rooms that provide exactly what a work trip or traveller needs without any gimmicks that are not needed but often charged for - and by far the best priced of any comparable hotel in the inner Sydney area. However the best part of the hotel - and the most important part to me - is the staff. Friendly, efficient, helpful, but also giving a guest "space". I cannot recommend the Adge highly enough, and I intend to continue to be a regular guest.
