The Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney offers an experience that receives mixed reviews from guests. While many appreciate the hotel's prime location in Sydney's CBD and the spaciousness of the rooms, some travelers have called out inconsistencies in service quality, ranging from unprofessional to friendly.
The hotel's atmosphere and amenities are a hit or miss, with certain visitors enjoying modern touches, yet others point out the dated decor and lack of breakfast variety. Despite the generally clean environment, concerns over value for money surface due to the high cost of services and amenities.

Detailed Reviews
I come to Sydney several times per year, staying for one or two weeks at a time (business travel). I have tried a number of hotels in the CBD and Darling Harbour, and I would say that the Amora is consistently my favorite. Just a hop from Wynard Station means that a train from the airport is most expeditious and cost effective. Just a couple of blocks from the center of restaurants, and Circular Quay, means that dining options and leisurely walks/runs are right outside your doorstep.
The rooms themselves are very comfortable and spacious. The hotel, as a whole, is fairly modern, yet warm and inviting. They keep the entire facility as clean as a whistle. The staff is exceptionally helpful, courteous, and congenial.
The beds are very comfy. Fluffy and clean sheets/blanket, and a variety of pillows make for the most restful sleep.
The internet is spot on reliable. No device limits. In my room, a solid 7Mbps down and 8Mbps up. And as for video conference calls and movie streaming, it handles that without any issues.
Silly detail to share, perhaps, but their elevators are fast and efficient. During this.2 week stay, all elevators were operational the entire time, and even during the morning rush hour, it was never an issue getting down quickly.
I’ve yet to use it, but the pool looks very nice, too. I’ve heard from other guests that it’s quite nice, to the tune of one couple telling me they use it twice per day.
Whether your stay is for family travel or business, the Amora is a great pick.

Booking a 7 night stay at the Amora Jamision was one of the best decisions we made for the last leg of our trip to Sydney. My husband and I commented almost every night as we walked back to the hotel, how happy we were that we chose this hotel over a lot of other air bnb options we were also considering. Everything about the hotel feels like we should have been paying a lot more money than we should have! The lobby and happy hour area are beautiful and that also extends to the rooms. We requested a higher room after reading other reviews and were very happy with the choice since it was quiet and elevators are super fast to get up there. The bathroom features a large glass shower as well as a huge separate soaking tub and is just very large and well appointed. The bed was incredibly comfortable as well and everything met my stringent "clean" standards. To top it all off, it is in the PERFECT location, in my opinion. It is within walking distance of most of the main spots to see like the opera house, Botanical Gardens, the Rocks, Circular Quay and Barangaroo to Darling Harbor. I would normally not stay in the same hotel more than once just due to the options out there but for the Amora Jamison, I would make an exception!

This Hotel is close to many features in Downtown Sydney, Not too far a walk to catch the hop on hop off bus, called the Big Bus in Sydney. There are several eating places that are close to the hotel. The hotel does offer on site eating, it is fairly expensive, $40 per person for breakfast, although there is a continental breakfast for about half that charge. Quite a bit of shopping within a block of this hotel, including a Woolworths amazingly enough, the Aussies call it Wolly's. Overall the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was in very good shape. There is a pool/hot tub/steam room on the third floor and they are very good, would recommend any or all of these after a long flight or just sightseeing, very relaxing.

Very nice hotel, about 15-20 mins walk from waterfront. Nice and clean hotel with spacious room and bathroom. Had dinner in restaurant one night and it was very good, quality food. The waiter was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. bizarrely they don't trust you to top up your own water glass or wine glass and insist on doing it for you!!.
Didn't have breakfast in the hotel as we felt $40 each was too much. There are numerous cafes nearby that were much cheaper.
Tried to use the pool several times but there were lots of screaming children who were running around and bombing into the pool so it made it rather uncomfortable to almost dangerous to be in there. Parents were chatting in corner not controlling their kids and oblivious to their behavior. This was from 8-10pm when you'd think it would be quieter. No showers in the pool area so people went from sweating in the sauna or steam room to jumping straight into the pool. yuck!
I would advise that showers are installed in the pool area and that its adults only from 8-10pm.

Only fault was service we received for bar meal on one occasion was a bit slow and orders mixed up. Food good though, and all other times everything was fine. Very pleasant staff, friendly and concierge services were also very welcoming and helpful, especially on our arrival, advising us of washing facilities etc as our arrival was very early morning and room not available until allotted time. They took care of our luggage whilst we went out and delivered to our room when we returned.

We stayed here for a couple of nights prior to our cruise. The rooms are large and modern and feature a nice large bathroom with a walk in shower and a tub. The beds are nice and comfortable. We had a corner room, so we had windows on two sides, although the view is mostly of office buildings. They had a nice comfortable bar with a good selection of beer. We went to happy hour both nights. We tried the breakfast buffet on Sunday since there were no other restaurants within walking distance that served breakfast. The food was very good and had a good selection of hot and cold items. Probably the best hotel breakfast buffet I have ever had. The price was a little steep ($30?). For a cheap breakfast during the week go to Happy as Larry in the office building next door. The hotel is within walking distance of several restaurants, Circular Quay, the Botanic Gardens, and the Opera House.

Attentive staff at check in and we were given an upgrade for a large suite with highly effective air conditioning. Don’t expect a good view from any room as this is in the middle of a city centre. The spa pool looks luxurious but children allowed to dive bomb at any time of day makes this a disappointing experience. Happy hour was nice before heading out to dinner.

Stayed overnight. The place is lovely and modern. Our lunch was good. My friend and I went for a swim but the pool was freezing, supposed to be heated. The sauna was lovely. Went down to the bar for happy hour thinking the cocktails were half price but discovered when ordering only beers and wine was. Had one cocktail but was shocked when it came in what looked like a sherry glass and this cost $20. To say we were not impressed and would not have any more drinks. The room was very clean and roomy but we discovered that when using the taps for bath or sink you could not use together only separately a bit annoying. Went down for our breakfast expecting a good one. Had let hotel know that my friend was a vegan but was very disappointed 😞. There was barely any of the usual things like tomotes or bacon. Not a lot for her to have, spoke to staff and mentioned that there was nothing for her and was told that there was enough there to say my friend was not happy. Ended up complaining again and was told they were cooking her a hot breakfast when it arrived it was a plate of vegetables not what we were expecting for breakfast. She ate it and said it was nice. Then her almond latte was terrible the milk they used curddled badly. She let the staff know she wasn't drinking it or paying for it. The tea she made for herself she had to wait 10 minutes for her almond milk after asking again. To say these little things will probably make us never stay again. They did let us stay after our check out time. This hotel is close to everything I will give them that.

We stayed in the Amora this weekend to celebrate my birthday in the city as the location is excellent, being close to everywhere we wanted to be
We booked (at a $300 per night premium) an Executive Suite Tradional for the space and access to the Jamison Executive Club .
Unfortunately we found out two days before our visit that the Jamison Club was closed and a temporary area allocated in the L1 bar. Whilst this did not impact breakfast much as the restaurant was quiet, we may have decided to go elsewhere if we had known earlier
The room on L33 was very spacious with great views. The bathroom was excellent but the bed was very soft which both my wife and I did not like but our daugher loved!
I also have a bone to pick on parking. The carpark is owned by Carepark. I called them on Friday and was advised that the cost if we parked after Friday at 5pm for the weekend would be $55. On checking out we were charged $114 by the hotel.
I suspect that if we had just taken our ticket to the car park machine at the exit it would have been $55 (lesson learnt)
Having said that all the staff were very helpful and friendly
We will be visiting the city again in April and we are undecided yet if we will book again

Well what can I say, a return visitor as I did rate this hotel. This time paid $550 a night and because the weather in Sydney got up to 35 degrees apparently the aircon at the entire hotel couldn’t cope. That was what I was told by management. The time as I write this is 12.21am the temp outside is 23 degrees the temp in my $550 room 26.5 degrees. I’m sure the hotels in Bangkok and Dubai manage, perhaps management should ring for a few tips or get a better aircon system installed. At the price I have paid I’m absolutely disgusted as I sit here and sweat my arse off. If I hadn’t had a few drinks I’d drive home. A hotel of this level should be able to sustain customers comfort. DISGRACEFUL!!!!!!!!!
Next time I’ll stay at the Travelodge across the road $150 a night and that hotel right now is bliss. And to make matters worse management just apologise. No compensation for this disgraceful display. Plenty of hotels in Sydney, don’t stay here!

Yep York street exit is quickest. If it is raining you can actually walk from Wynyard towards George street through a nice arcade of shops and exit near the Woolworths exit and that places you right next door to the Amora. Enjoy your stay.
Jump on a train from the airport to the city. Only takes 20 mins.
No, my floor cannot see the view we stayed on 7th floor. Not sure about other floors.
