Yes it does! One positive was I scored the Penthouse so I was pretty excited over that but then found that it was the only room on the 3rd floor and there is no lift! Struggled up the stairs with luggage across carpets that were dirty and paint splashed (apparently renovations were happening but there was no further evidence of...

The stairwell smelt like vomit. No joke. The rooms, while small, were relatively clean but the beds were very uncomfortable. Absolutely no friendly service at all, not even a hello when you come in. They give you a dodgy microwave but no mini fridge to keep food.

So this hotel is pretty cheap on a Sydney price level but it is not worth it: the room was not clean, it is supposed to be smoke free but there was all the time a thick smell of smoke, there were tiles missing from the bathroom floor, the tap came loose when touched, a lamp was missing but no...

The level of Hygiene and cleanliness was disgusting. The toilet seat had not even been wiped from the last guests. Air vents are all covered in thick dust. Furniture and carpet were not clean and very run down. For a non smoking hotel the rooms smelt like an ashtray, the cigarette smell throughout the room was so strong. Doesn't look...

Love the roof-top area for a quiet drink and watch the sun set over Sydney. Not very large or modern rooms but in a great spot, right in the middle of Oxford St bars etc. Easy check in/out. Will be back !

I have stayed there on Jan 2017 for 3 nights (unfortunately). My worst experience ever, Positive: 1.Room was big as we booked family room. 2. Lots of eateries nearby open till late. Negative: 1.Bathroom is rotten and pantry is located inside the bathroom just next to commode. 2. Notice put on pantry area is 'you have to clean your dishes...

I was initially excited to find a reasonable priced room near CBD. A great location and a very good walking distance to both the city, Chinatown, and Paddington and its surrounding markets with good access to multiple cafes, and restaurants in the area. The room was big and has a very effective air-conditioner which is important as Sydney approaches the...

When I arrived someone was painting the door to my room so I had to wait for him to finish before I could use the room. The shower was not in a good state, dirty shower curtain and awful looking tiles. In the morning the sheet had come off the bed slightky to reveal a very mouldy mattress, which is...

Front door entrance- broken old door system giving a very poor first impression although there is a new touch pad system in place but not the first thing you see. Room looked nothing like the picture advertising it. Think the foyer and room we stayed in had recently been painted as well as the room we stayed in, lots of...

This certainly is not a boutique hotel. I would class this as a budget / backpackers hotel with no facilities. A great location and walking distance to most areas. Lots of reasonable restros and bars within the immediate area. If your paying around $99 USA per night then this type of hotel may work for you. I would stay here...

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighbourhood Profile
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
