Wonderful hotel with stunning views. Friendly, helpful staff to everyone around. We arrived after 2 months of travelling, carrying our backpacks and they didn't even bat an eyelid! Would highly recommend if you're thinking of splashing out on a luxury hotel! Great top Floor bar with views of the city below!

The hotel had been conveniently located at Sydney harbor. We arrived early and they let us check in early. Also the customer service was very good. There was gentleman at reception on 5th of May at around 11 am who was really very helpful (sorry I forgot your name). He was very kind enough to upgrade our room for our...

We stayed at the Shangri La Sydney last week for 4 nights. Every single experience with a staff member was a positive one. From housekeeping to reception to in room dining to the Horizon Club. Absolutely unbelievable service. The staff at Horizon Club remembered our drinks from the day before and got them for us immediately. They remembered where we...

This hotel is in a great position on the edge of The Rocks, with wonderful views from higher floor rooms - in my case of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. However, the interiors are starting to look a bit dated, the number of elevators can't cope adequately with a full hotel, and the quality of service was very patchy....

Stayed here at the end of a tour to Australia. Couldn't have asked for a better location or hotel. Service was fabulous & the room was out of this world with amazing views. We upgraded to a club room & really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea & cocktails served daily with views to die for!

We had the Epicurious dinner and really enjoyed it. The staff were faultless, ambience just right, and of course that spectacular view. It was an evening to remember, and we will be back on our next visit to Sydney. Martin

Decided to splurge on our last night . Got upgraded to a better-view room. Perfectly comfortable. Amazing view of Sydney Harbour and the Opera House from 17th floor. Staff most helpful and attentive as you would expect, but there could have been exceptions-there weren't. Had a wonderful meal in the restaurant as well. Tried to add a photo.......

Stayed here last month for the third time in 2 years. Decided to change things up a bit this time and went for one of the club rooms - seeing as the decor was different to what we experienced on our first 2 stays, and to win the club lounge access privileges - and what a great decision that was!...

Bit tired. Basin in our room cracked. We paid for upgrade. Went to bar and not made very welcome we had to say we were staying in the hotel just to get in. They need to offer invitation with some incentive. This would identify hotel guest to improve levels of service

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
