Shangri-la is one of those very consistent luxury hotel, with most probably the most comfortable beds. The Sydney hotel is no different, great service, great views and a good location. It does not come with the wow factor, but is is nevertheless very Shangri- La

We have now stayed at the Shangri-La several times when coming to Sydney - where else would you stay with such great views of Sydney Harbour and the Opera House. We had a room on the Horizon Level No 3013 which look straight across the harbour - what a view. Service at the hotel is great , staff very helpful...

Stayed for 4 nights to celebrate my 40th birthday and booked an executive city and opera house view room. Room was fairly basic and dated. Somewhat cramped too for what purports to be a five star hotel. The other Shangri-La's around the world are vastly superior to this one. Given the cost of the room, other five star hotels in...

We spent 6 days in Sydney and the hotel staff at the Shangri-La could not have been more helpful and more gracious. Prior to our trip, I was in touch with the Concierge staff who were SO HELPFUL. They guided us to some of the best food in the city - where the locals eat - giving us a well...

I have stayed at other Shangri-la properties (Singapore and Toronto) and have always been overwhelmed by their commitment to service and the luxury of the brand. The Shangri-la in Sydney was very disappointing by comparison. The room I was assigned had a wonderful view over Sydney Harbour from the 29th floor, but the room itself was a room that you...

My husband surprised me by arranging a lovely few days at the hotel. He had made prior arrangements for an airport pickup and honestly, it felt amazing to be spoilt rotten. Upon check in, I was still flying high on the whole experience. Unfortunately, later I found out that the arrangements that my husband had made with the hotel to...

My wife and I decided to treat ourselves for our 25th wedding anniversary. The room was beautiful and spacious enough for the hoist and power wheelchair to move around. Everything about the hotel made the experience thoroughly enjoyable, especially the staff who were extremely helpful and courteous.

Love the view, love the room, love the service. Bit of a climb to get there from the shops but its worth the effort. A room with a view of the harbour bridge and opera house is a must. Its what makes staying here so special. and the beds are to die for!

Stayed at the Shangri-La for my 5th anniversary with partner. From arrival to departure it was the best hotel stay I've ever had in my life. Staff were all beyond friendly and helpful, the room was huge (I could've lived in the bathroom), and THE VIEW. oh my god the view. I can't even talk about it because it will...

My boyfriend treated me to a stay in the Shangri-La Hotel and it was absolutely stunning. The hotel room gorgeous with incredible views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Amazing experience and I would love to stay again. The bed was so comfortable with such soft sheets! The bathroom was beautiful and we loved the relaxing music that played...

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
