Crown Towers Sydney boasts an elegant atmosphere with its luxurious ambiance and comfortable furnishings, which are frequently praised by guests. However, the hotel's service often falls short of the luxury standard, with reports of slow and disorganized staff.
While some travelers value the high-end amenities, issues with cleanliness and room readiness tarnish the overall experience. Despite its prime location, many guests question the value, noting high rates paired with additional charges and service shortcomings.

I wanted to love this stay, but I didn't. It was just ok. The good: I had an Opera King room. The room is large, beautifully appointed, quiet, and comfortable. The views were fantastic.
The bad: Staff are polite but not friendly. Room service us quick to deliver but extremely slow to take old plates away. 1 bight it took 24 hours and 3 calls to finally get rod of the dinner plates etc from the bight before. The room makeup each day is very slow. Don't expect your room to be made up until about 5 pm, which is very inconvenient as this is when most people are trying to get ready to go out. For 3 nights I asked for teaspoons for the tea and coffee, and never got any. I gave up on asking for an iron as it never came. We tried TWR for cocktails and nibbles, seriously underwhelming for the price, although the waiters here were actually really nice. We tried A'mare for dinner. Honestly, don't bother. It was like an extremely overpriced food court style of dining and service. Food was good, service appalling, and they want to get you in and our as quickly as they can. The reception area is far too small for the size of the hotel and it is crazy busy all the time with very limited seating. They ran out of umbrellas, so it was very hard to go anywhere. I'm not sure why each room doesn't have an umbrella as standard. Breakfast was included for 3 days, which we didn't have once as the line up to get in to Epicurean was about an hour long, it really is ridiculous. Arriving and departing the hotel is a nightmare as they entry for cars and valets is packed and lined up down the street at most times. The bellboy and people put the front, who I guess are meant to assist guests are nothing other than rude and unwelcoming. The rooms, as I said, are amazing, but everything else lacks in many ways. If you decide you must stay here, I recommend heading out to eat as there is an array of fantastic cafes and restaurants literally 50 metres away. For the price not worth it at all. I'm glad I tried it, but never again. It's marketed as glitz and glamour, and it falls well short of 6 stars.

Very nice hotel but for the price it’s needs to be excellent. Room wasn’t ready by 3pm, not available until 3.45, we were compensated with a $100 credit but still would have preferred to be able to settle in to celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday.
Reception was always very busy, but when you only have 3 of the 6 check in desks open it’s not surprising. Had to constantly queue to speak to someone, not what you want when you are paying $3,500 for 2 nights.
We had booked a suite, with harbour bridge views, finally got to our room which was really nice, very well appointed no issue there, went to look out the windows to the views we’d payed for and the windows were filthy, no idea when they were last cleaned, but it must have been a while ago, quite off putting to be honest.
We found all the staff excellent, zero complaints apart from maybe they needed a few more, drinks at bars always seemed to take too long.
We went to 3 of the restaurants, Nobu, A’mare and Epicurean, as well as Circ for a light snack. Nobu was amazing, A’mare very good and a great buffet breakfast at Epicurean. Circ has great views and lovely staff.
The pool area is very good but the Sunday we were there it was very hot and sunny, as the sun came up around the building it became unbearable so I put an umbrella up to protect myself and was promptly told by a pool attendant that I couldn’t put it up as it gets too windy, but when I was there it was a gentle little zephyr, why have umbrellas dotted all over the place if you can’t use them, either buy more resilient ones or take them away. Anyway, I then left as there is zero protection.
It was a nice stay but not great.

The rooms are lovely however small things make a difference when you’re paying the rates they charge and unfortunately some cracks are showing. Little service expectations like replacing soap, water and coffee cups. No pen or paper in the room. Not a major but when you’re being charged for quality, it’s nice to receive it. The hotel is extremely busy on the weekends.

Nice hotel with a spacious room and great views. The service tablet was great , easy to order room service and control lights etc. the valet parking was a bit hectic but the check in was quick. The pool and spa were lovely and the pool staff were friendly. The buffet breakfast had lots of options for the whole family. We stayed one night only but would definitely visit again!

I can't believe how poor this hotel was and, as someone born and raised in Sydney, I was embarrassed to think that my overseas business associates would consider this to be the six-star standard. Lengthy check-in times, rooms not made up (despite the fact that someone had clearly been there ... the water bottles were replaced, but not the coffee, and the bed was not made ...) My bed didn't even have a proper quilt cover - just a quilt insert (complete with stain) topped by a sheet. If someone else had made my bed, I may never have discovered this, but in having to make my own bed every day, it didn't take me long to find out. What is the point of strange toilet lids that rise of their own accord, and strangely robotic elevators, if you can't sleep in a well made bed and wake up to a restocked box of coffee? And I am all for the idea of not washing and replacing towels very day - I was happy to stay with my towels for my 4-night stay - but PLEASE, honestly, don't say you limit your approach to cleaning because of environmental concerns and then bring me PLASTIC water bottles every day. As for the service - appalling, glazed, slow, dismissive, unconcerned, switched off, oblivious. These are just some of the adjectives. Other than Callum, by the pool - a ray of bright light in an otherwise over-priced hotel that favours style (if you can call it that) over substance and, critically, customer service.

Checked in on Monday 5/6/2024 at 7:40 am at Crown Towers Hotel Sydney, paid for Sunday 5/5/2024 so we could have a room for the day upon arrival. Regular check in was at 3:00 pm. We were supposed to stay until 5/12/2024 for a wedding. When we entered our room, we noticed there was make-up on a pillow case and our room overlooked a construction site. We spoke to a supervisor who was extremely unsympathetic, stated that housekeeping would change the pillowcase, and if we wanted to be in a room on a higher floor we had to pay $30.00 extra per night. We went to have breakfast in the hotel, told that we could not have breakfast since we checked in that same day despite me telling them that I paid for the night before, and then permitted to have breakfast and told we only had one hour to eat . We ordered orange juice and a cappuccino and when the orange juice did not arrive upon asking a waiter for the orange orange juice was told that there would be an up charge for fresh squeezed, orange juice. We then spoke to a manager about make up on pillow case, insensitive supervisor when I mentioned this to her before speaking to the manager, as well as the up charge for room on upper floor, up charge for fresh OJ, and told we had one (1) hour to eat breakfast. Manager offered to remove the $30 up charge for the room and $100 food and beverage credit since you could not offer a spa credit. That evening we asked for turn down service and extra towels. Upon returning to our room, we saw that there was no turn service nor extra towels, called housekeeping, and was told asked for turn down service that turn down was only available Friday and Saturday, etc.
On Tuesday 5/7/2024 at 5 am I went to the front desk and asked asked where I could get a cup of coffee and was told that none of the restaurants in the hotel were available, but possibly could get through room service but not sure. I then was told that the canteen down the street may be open. I had to ask the gentleman at the desk to find out if the canteen was in fact open before I walked there for a cup of coffee. We decided to check out of the hotel and checked into The Langham. Horrible hotel with horrible service. Not a 6 star hotel.

This place was a disaster from start to finish. For a hotel of this caliber, they failed to meet even the most basic expectations. Starting with the check-in process, they had a long line with only two staff members manning the kiosks, despite it being a busy Saturday. Numerous kiosks were just left idle while we waited. It’s beyond unprofessional and shows a complete disregard for guests’ time.
Upon entering my room, it was clear it hadn't been properly cleaned, which is completely unacceptable. Even worse, my friend's room had a glass shard on the floor – she actually stepped on it and got injured. They called and requested immediate assistance to clean the room but no one even bothered to show up. It's appalling and negligent to leave a guest injured and unattended.
The in-room facilities were just as disappointing. Only one USB-C port worked, on one side of the bed. The other USB ports didn’t work at all, leaving limited options for charging devices – a basic amenity any decent hotel should have covered by now.
In-room dining was another frustrating experience. I specifically requested extra plates and cutlery with our fruit platter order. The server showed up with only the food and then tried to leave as if my requests didn’t matter. When I reminded her, she returned with only the plates, completely ignoring the cutlery I had also asked for. The lack of attention to detail and willingness to help was astonishing.
If that wasn’t enough, the issues extended beyond the room. The pool was an absolute letdown. The WiFi doesn’t even work, and their ordering system was apparently broken. To top it all off, the pool staff took towels and slippers from sunbeds without even asking – including mine, which they just tossed aside like trash. We were still using them! I’ve never experienced anything like this in any hotel. Taking towels from an unoccupied chair might make sense, but taking personal items without permission is beyond disrespectful.
In all my years of travel, this was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I would strongly advise anyone considering a stay here to think twice.

I wouldn’t usually write a review however given how much they charge for this hotel I felt I had to let other know before paying.
We stayed 4 nights
No Champagne “on arrival”
Room cleaning requested 4 times through out the day, still wasn't done at 5pm. We then asked for it to be cleaned after 6pm once we have left room for dinner, a guy rocks up at 5:20pm and I had to tell him 3 times he cant clean because my wife is getting ready and he was still walking in, his english was really bad
Again next day room wasn't cleaned by 4pm after a day out, had to call and request it again.
No milk for a coffee in morning, had to purchase it on room service for $10
Lift says $15 cocktails at happy hour but No cocktails at most bars.
No happy hour on the pool.
Ipad control stopped working, wouldn't operate any services, took a day to rectify.
Plug in bath didn't work, kept draining when my wife was in it. It was fixed later in the day.
Reconsider

Staff to guest ratio needs to be improved, and overall attention to detail needs a lot of work. Really surprised there was no evening turn-down service or room refresh, even after leaving on the housekeeping request button for several hours while we were out. At $1000 per night this should be a given. Room service set up should include a table cloth. Room service took ages to come and collect used plates, in the end I left them in the hallway - not a good look. Amenities feel stingy, ie you have to pay for sauna use; only one coffee per person allowed at breakfast; only 1 body wash in bathroom to share between shower and bath. I won't be coming back.

Having stayed at Crown before I booked a stay for my birthday. At 3pm check in I was told my room wasn’t ready. At $940 a night, check in on time is the bare minimum. I informed them I had pre-booked a 4pm massage at Crown Spa and was told the room would “hopefully” be ready by then. At 3.50pm my room was ready and I just made it to the Crown Spa in time. Not a great start to a relaxing birthday experience. Then when I was in the bath I discovered the bathroom TV remote didn’t work and I couldn’t turn off the Crown promo on a loop and at high volume. Staff tried using another two remotes but none worked. Volume was turned off remotely by maintenance. Noisy neighbours playing dance music at 2am at least had some charges removed from my bill. But no offer to change rooms due to the broken bathroom TV. The following day the bathroom TV came on again and maintenance had to visit twice to turn the TV off through the ceiling. Having maintenance visit my room three times in a 24 hour period when I’d spent $1600 is outrageous for a luxury hotel. No offer to change my room. No offer of an upgrade for the inconvenience. You’d think staff would check that room electronics work before the room is given to a guest.

The view from our room was so awesome we thought room service would be a great idea. However, the menu looked basic and uninviting so we skipped it and went out to eat instead. Could not remember what items were on the menu but hopefully they’ve improved it. Sorry I couldn’t share positive news and hope you have a better experience.
