I chose this hotel due to it's location and price. Great location as it was so close to the train and any number of places to eat. Supermarket 1 minute away. You could walk to the city if you wanted to. The room was clean and updated. King size bed was very comfortable and Air Con was good. Staff very...

This hotel, while not in main downtown Sydney is such a good location and really quite nice! I had such a lovely time staying here, and there were a lot of great restaurants in the area. I would definitely stay here again if I was back in Sydney!

This is an old building with very modern designs inside. It's a good walk away from the city and Sydney Harbour, but plenty of food and drink venues around the area. They did not have good cable channels. A little pricey for the location. But that's Sydney for you.

The room assigned met our expectation of cleanliness and comfort - quiet, king-sized bed. The space was extremely small for a designated king-sized room compared to North America standard. Staff very helpful. Location close to train station, bus stop right in front of hotel, supermarket within 2 min walk. Please note, they also charge a mandatory % for the privilege...

Hello, Thank you very much for taking the time to review your recent stay here at The Bayswater Sydney. I chose this hotel because it was well located and well priced. I was surprised to find that I had found a peaceful, clean and tidy stay in the heart of sydney. my expectations were not that high and what a fantastic surprise. Close to trains, restaurants, helpful and pleasant staff. highly recommended

The structure looks a bit tired and the rooms can be noisy at night, due to the night life in the area. Floors are creaky. It is not your usual 4 star hotel, customer facing staff is limited to one person at reception, which at times can mean long waits for your turn. The hotel does not provide any food,...

To be honest, most of my issues were with service and non-physical aspects of my room. It's alright for a basic stay but nothing too special, and felt it was rated better than it deserved. Good things: There's a very nice bed, tv, and lovely bathroom. Ken at the front desk is wonderful, and the maids are lovely. Bad side:...

Staff were excellent and friendly. Place was neat and clean. I did not mind the décor. Location is really close to KingsX, Coles, eateries, pubs, etc. Room was clean but had a stale smell and I do not have a sensitive nose!. Stayed on third floor and after closing both windows fully had a good night sleep. Having windows slightly...

Staying in Kings Cross

Neighbourhood Profile
Kings Cross
Changing liquor laws are remodeling "The Cross," Sydney's red light district. These new rules have encouraged trendy cafes and boutiques to pop-up in the area, as well as organic markets on Saturdays. The area's nightclubs are still popular with youngsters, however, who will dance to the early morning hours on weekend nights. There are plenty of artifacts from Kings Cross' shady past when gangsters and liquor houses owned the place. Today, one can still find a variety of adult entertainment venues in this evolving area.
