It's tough to find an inexpensive hotel in Sydney, but this hotel is a lot cheaper than most other options and is actually quite good value for your money. The rooms are small but they are both modern and clean. The only issue we had is that once we ran out of shampoo the hotel would not supply a refill,...

If you like to party at bars and you don't mind the noise of heavy base music coming from the bars and people shouting at night and police cars picking up drunk and disorderly people at night, especially on a weekend, then this place is for you. The room we had was spacious but the carpets were stained and so...

4 days here the hotel is located right by a hop on hop off site so we had no long walks, the bus will take you too over 36 stops around the city on two different routes so you can get off and another bus is there every half hour, there is a taxi stand out front, excellent bed, clean room and...

We booked the Bayswater for our last 6 days of our 5 week Australian vacation. Comparing this to our other accommodations is difficult, as it is a small hotel room, with a concrete wall as our view. We had asked for a quiet room, but didn't expect our room to look at a wall 10 feet away. As a hotel...

This nice place to have a break. The room is small but worked great for an over night stay. Had a great amount of places to eat. There is a super market about 200 meters down the road. Nice and close to the train and city.

Really tiny room. Mouldy bathroom. Friendly staff (barring one) close to train station and lots of food/bars. Our room was overlooking a back street that had bin men come up it around 6am and it was so loud it sounded like it was in your room with you. The one staff member I had a problem with had such a...

We stayed for 5 nights in a deluxe king room. The room was an ok size for a city hotel but I would imagine the standard rooms are a bit too small for 2 people. The room had a nice modern decor as did the bathroom. Only criticism of the room itself is the lack of storage space. The wifi...

The Bayswater hotel has varying reviews but in my opinion it's a very good hotel to stay in Sydney . Price wise it's very acceptable in an expensive city and although a little apprehensive before our visit It soon began to grow on us. Kings Cross is not the most salubrious area to stay but it is getting more gentrified...

Although there were good aspects of our stay and despite our booking an Executive Suite, there was an outstanding omission of places to put anything in our room ! Not one shelf nor one regular drawer anywhere and very little hanging space. We spent five days living out of our suitcases. It would have been so easy and cost little...

This hotel is located in the heart of Kings Cross - great location 3 minutes from the train station and the nightlife. The rooms are a bit dark and noisy if you are near Bayswater Road. But the internet and facilities are standard and probably good value for money.

Staying in Kings Cross

Neighbourhood Profile
Kings Cross
Changing liquor laws are remodeling "The Cross," Sydney's red light district. These new rules have encouraged trendy cafes and boutiques to pop-up in the area, as well as organic markets on Saturdays. The area's nightclubs are still popular with youngsters, however, who will dance to the early morning hours on weekend nights. There are plenty of artifacts from Kings Cross' shady past when gangsters and liquor houses owned the place. Today, one can still find a variety of adult entertainment venues in this evolving area.
