I am an astronaut, I am embarking on the first manned journey to the surface of Mercury, as part of my training I was required to stay at jackaroo hostel to experience what living temperatures would be like. Okay in all seriousness I stayed at this hostel on my working holiday visa in sydney, the staff are very helpful, the...

Hi George, Thank you for your review. We are so sorry your stay was not pleasant because of the air conditioning. Unfortunately it was totally out of our hands, we had a technician working on the issue but it was not a quick fix and took some time. You will be happy to know that the issue has now been...

I visited Jackaroo hostel in Kingscross at the beginning of my East Coast trip. First impressions of the hostel were good as the staff were helpful and it was busy, so we presumed it would also be sociable. Unfortunately it became apparent that those who had been staying at the hostel for a while did not concern themselves in accommodating...

Hi Emily, Thank you for your review. We are glad you found the hostel clean and safe. We are sorry you didn't find some of the guests more accommodating, some people do stay a bit longer than the general backpacker and form strong friendships. We do try and get everyone included in all events, we are currently in the processes...

Room was small and without any amenities - only a bed and not working TV. There were no adaptors for electricity sockets, there were no A/C, there were no windows in the room (except small window in the corner). There is nothing to do in the room at all. Only to sleep and go away immediately after you woke up....

Stayed here for 4 nights in October. The location is good. Easy walk to the heart in the city / opera house in 25min. Staff was also friendly and the price was good for Sydney. The only thing what I didnt like was the room. A tiny 6 bed dorm with no windows. So you can imagine the "nice scent"...

In general - I would definitely recommend this hostel to fellow backpackers who are looking for a lost cost, perfectly located hostel with decent facilities and a great atmosphere. The hostel is located right above the Kings Cross station which makes it very easy to reach and close to the CBD and beaches, which was perfect. Facilities - At first...

I stayed here with my boyfriend for the final leg of a trip through South Australia, Victoria, and NSW. Overall a decent value for the money. Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful, and free breakfast and free wi-fi were definitely a plus. The rooftop area was a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of the area. Cons: Very...

Hi, Thank you for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed our helpful staff. In regards to the noise, we do have a night manager which patrols the building every hour but as you can appreciate being a busy hostel we have people coming and going frequently. It's central, right next to the underground station, cheap for Sydney, very clean, quiet and breakfast is included. They have an entertainment room, free and fast wifi and staff is very friendly. Bathrooms are private (no group bathrooms) and mostly clean as well. Definitely a place to stay if you want a cheap accomodation in Sydney. Thumbs up!

I had a thoroughly enjoyable at this hostel. It's location is perfect being in kings cross station with easy access to food and pretty much anything a backpacker needs. Spent 3 nights here in a private room, staff were very friendly and the whole hostel was cleaned everyday which was excellent. It did seem a party hostel so bear this in mind when booking, there is lots of noise but the location is good, pretty much in Kings Cross station and a short walk to the opera house/Darling harbour.
