Nothing wrong with the place if you understand the purpose and logic of a hostel. In other words they have they have fine beds, reasonable cleanliness, minimalist decor/furnishing to allow for space, enough power sockets and really helpful reception. Only comments really would be fix up one of the shower heads on the 3rd floor. It is a bit strange...

Me and a friend have just stayed here for 3 nights, tried to extend stay but was fully booked and did not want to stay in the sister hostel (strattons). Rooms are spacious and reasonably clean. Beds were comfortable. Shower rooms were clean but lack of ventilation in the bathrooms meant on a hot day it was a nightmare to...

This place is located centrally on George St and Liverpool Street. Perfect close to bars restaurants and shops. Everything you need this here. The place itself - room is clean. Spacious in some rooms (6 bed) and some ok size (4bed). The bathroom is small- only 2 showers and one toilet for ladies on the 4th floor and 3 showers...

The location of this hostel was really great! (In the city center close to a FREE bus that takes you straight to the harbour!) The staff was super-friendly and helpful and the rooms were definitely ok to stay in- nothing extraordinary though, but pretty much what you would expect for the price. There was a nice bar just underneath the...

Nothing special in the rooms or hostel but the staff is really friendly and the location is central if you like the City. Wifi is the best and free in the common area! Beds are not so comfortable but the people staying are a mixture most of those in the large dorm were friendly.

World Square Hostel is in a great location, walking distance to all the sights and near the main shopping/drinking area of central Sydney. The staff are all lovely and really helpful, and the hostel itself is maintained very well - the kitchen is huge with everything you could need and always clean, and the common/reception area is open plan with...

We stayed here for 2 nights and unfortunately one of them was a Saturday which meant the 2nd floor turns into a club. The 18 bed dorm is directly above this and you can hear everything going on below. The room was bright and spacious but the carpet dirty and could do with a fresh coat of paint. There is...

With nearly forty hours without sleep we arrived at the world square hostel only to find we had reserved the incorrect date. The manager on reception showed us our first experience of Australian customer service by waving the cancellation fee and letting us stay. This level of understanding towards first time travellers such as myself and my partner was displayed...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
