Great for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
I was very pleased with this hotel. Location is perfect, right across road from QVB; light rail now makes moving around so much easier. Reception staff were very helpful. We stayed 2 nights, car parking was not a hassle and relatively cheap. The room was small, but it was clean and comfortable and we only wanted a place to sleep and wash, and it was an ideal base to view as much of the city as we could squeeze in with convenience. It is inexpensive and we are now more likely to take small visits to Sydney and see different sections without it costing an arm and a leg.

My son and i stayed at the Sydney Hotel QVB in a room of 25 square meters. It contained one single bed in one room and a king size bed in another room. The linen and towels were clean and well laundered. The showers were hot and delivered from a large overhead rose or hand shower. The a/c comfortable. Travelling by train from the country into Sydney Central we had a 2.2km walk and arrived late and tired, we received a friendly welcome from Daphne and were efficiently booked in. It was a clean, sanitised room and comfortable for our short overnight stay. The lobby tea and coffee room was quiet for catching up on emails. The location is convenient and we enjoyed an early Saturday DIY tour on the eBikes that are readily available on the pavements in the local area. It was quiet riding early on Saturday mornings through the city. A short stroll to Starbucks provided a good early start to the day. On leaving Hotel QVB Bijay bid us a good day and thanked us the staying ..... it is these small touches that keep us coming back. Thank you.

Only stayed here for 2 nights - wish I’d had longer. The hotel is spotlessly clean - I’ve seen other reviews saying ‘basic’, I guess it is but the price for a central city location is incredible.
Room was very comfortable, air con, and free snacks and mini bar, but the best bit was the very helpful staff. We arranged the taxi service to the airport, arrived down at reception too early for it so the lovely man at the desk opened the lounge up for us (free drinks, free snacks), then came and told us when our taxi arrived. Small things like that made all the difference.
The location was brilliant, right near the trams or busses, only 5 mins by tram to Circular quay. Would definitely recommend.

We enjoyed staying in this for 3 days before embarking on a cruise. The central location allowed us to visit many of the local sites on foot making the visit more memorable. The rooms are small but well maintained. The staff did an excellent job at making sure we were taken care of, even storing our bags on arrival and departure. No restaurant in the hotel but many places to eat locally. You could eat all your meals in the Queen Victoria Building Mall across the street if desired. We would stay here again.

Good rates to stay in the heart of the Sydney CBD. Special offer for paying in cash, otherwise the normal charge for using credit card. Located near Town Hall and Queen Victoria Building with easy access to shops, restaurants and transport. Compact Queen Room was small but had the main requirements if you are only staying in the room to sleep and out all day - comfy large bed, TV on the wall, small desk and chair, air con, free wi-fi, small room safe, small fridge and coffee/tea facilities, blackout curtains, regular and nice rain shower fittings. Soap and wall dispensers of shampoo and body wash provided, but other amenities like hair conditioner, iron and iron board or dental kit can be requested from Guest Services (sign with list in the elevator). Friendly staff. Reception closed in the early hours but just use access card.
A few negatives. My room was located facing the nearby wall of the building next door (so no view). I requested a view (if possible) but was informed there were no views for my room. I don't think hotels realise how any outlook can make a big difference for some guests to enjoy their stay. If I book again I would check first if a room facing the street was available. Worse and disturbing for me though was the constant humming noise and sometimes slight vibration caused by the air ventilation shafts outside my window (one quite close and attached to the outside wall). It also took a couple of days and some confusion before I received a make up room/do not disturb door sign. Many hotels these days take this lightly and are very casual about such arrangements, but some guests are more comfortable having this sign. Very minor was the cold water barely ran in the bathroom basin which was a little convenient at times. There was a TV entertainment lounge nook in the corridor outside my room which was not used during my stay but I would find that disturbing if it had been.
Overall a pleasant stay but check out the different types of rooms available.

We stayed at this hotel while spending a few days in Sydney. It's not a fancy place; the rooms are similar to European hotel rooms being on the small sized. But it was quite clean; the staff were friendly and helpful, and it was only a block way from a major supermarket where you could get snacks, drinks and stuff for breakfast. There is a small fridge in the room where you are able to keep things that you pick up. The best part is the location, right across the street from the Queen Victoria Building which is an old government building that has been converted into a high end, multi-story shopping mall. The best part is the hotel's location right in the center of the downtown area where all sorts of attractions are within walking distance as well as many restaruants and shops.

Stayed for one night at the end of a 10-night stay west of Sydney. The hotel is set very close to Town Hall Railway Station, in an area that is safe and nice to walk around at night. The hotel is close to a multitude of eateries. My room was large, very clean and tidy. Free Wi-Fi worked well. Staff were very polite and helpful and they allowed me to store luggage until my flight in the early evening. Staff were able to arrange a bus transfer to Sydney airport at a reasonable price. I stayed on a Saturday night when the noise from a nearby nightclub and street traffic was very loud - the windows were not double glazed. Overall, the hotel is a great place to stay.

I used to frequently travel, the last few years I have focused on tending to a business. Since the beginning of 2021, I have travelled to a number Hotels on various levels, stayed in numbers of Motels, and some Airbnb establishments. I was so thankful after several disappointing Hotels & Airbnb visits where care, cleanliness, and overall consideration I found to be lacking. I was so fortunate to find an oasis in the middle of Sydney CBD. This beautiful building with a substantial history that is revered by the hotel owners has a rare quality in dedicated to making guests comfortable and cared for, I found everything you needed was no trouble. Furthermore, I was so pleased with the value is exceptional unheard of for the wonderful solid rooms in a remarkable structure with such a deliberation for the hotel owners to ensure great sheets wonderful towels and all the attention to cleanliness; the rooms just sparkle. This building was constructed in harmony with a time where quality was paramount. The hotel owners are being faithful to this standard for an amazing daily rate. I was soon to discover the Hotel Manager Bijay Sipai Shrestha Know by everyone affectionately as Bijay. Bijay is a unique human being, he comes from the foothills Kathmandu, a young man wise beyond his years. Bijay is in his mid-twenties he is a pure Gentleman; he has a pure genuine passion for hospitality. His joy is too please his guests that they may know and have an experience of a city that he is grown to love with absolute wonder. I write this review with this level enthusiasm as I believe dedication deserves the equal measure of reflection and encouragement. I have stayed at Yehs Hotel Sydney QVB on York Street central Sydney CBD for quite a period now. I have witnessed many variables of many degrees and it is fantastic marriage between a Hotel Group that have incredible ethics and skills in finding the calibres of someone like Bijay who is devoted his life to real hospitality and for allowing Bijay for an opportunity for him to shine and share his wonderful enthusiasm. His experience in running of the hotel, his care for his fellow human beings, for his motivation is that his guests will have a true experience.
I will always make Yehs Hotel Sydney QVB my destination whenever I arrive in Sydney.

Great value considering it's excellent location, clean comfy rooms, only slight downside is no 24hr reception - allowed for some noisy guests late at night. Very close to both George St & Darling Harbour. Overall very satisfactory stay.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Sydney Hotel QVB. It’s in a great location. The room was well stocked with tea, coffee and snacks. The room was on the small side but we were pleasantly surprised at how soundproofed it was! Train links are right at your doorstep and the staff couldn’t be more helpful or accommodating. We’ll be back.
