We really enjoyed our staying at Hotel R. It was amazing how clean the sea water was, crystal clear. Our children enjoyed not only the outdoor pool, but the open sea just as well. The food was great, we had daily cleaning of the room, we were serviced by kind and warm staff and enjoyed the most beautiful sunsets from the terrace an from the beach.

Hotel might be a bit hard to find as it was not on GPS but it has very good location straight next to the sea. It has a small pool with salted water and access to the sea through stairs. I would recommend to take shoes for the water.
Hotel has its own free parking. I think car is really needed as there is not much around the hotel, (there is a little shop). and everything is up to the hill.
We stayed in two bedroom apartment with a sea view. Apartment was clean, however bathroom would require some deep clean out and few repairs. Water in the shower was constantly changing temperature.
Staff were very kind and friendly. Breakfast was fine, with lots of fresh fruit, although the choice was a bit limited especially if you stay longer. (no sweets, no natural cereals etc..)
We stayed only once for dinner as there was very little to choose from and it was not tasty.

In nutshell I would recommend this hotel mainly to the couples, or families with older kids. It is very quite location excellent for relaxing.

There is no doubt that this hotel looks both wonderful on arrival & stylish, with a beautiful coastal view. For car drivers it is poorly signed & the GPS details were inaccurate (we provided our system's readout!), also access is tight & there is very limited parking - if your car is large it may not fit! The room had a sea-facing vista with a good sized balcony we had very comfortable beds with good pillows. The shower room needed a deep clean & electrical repairs are required! The reception staff were very helpful, the remaining staff provided a service that was interesting & different, perhaps because we were the last guests at the end of the summer season. For visitors there is little close at hand to do, unless you are happy to relax, swim & read. The supper was well cooked & substantial, whereas breakfast was limited, however, we were given the chance to have substantial cooked breakfast though it was not obviously available. The hotel has so many positive aspects but it is isolated for any who wish to visit the area.

We have been for the second time at this 3*-Hotel (one of the better 3*-hotels in Montenegro) which is situated between Bar und Ulcinj. I think only insiders get to know about the beauty of this spot. Even taxi drivers must watch carefully on the main road to see the poster and then drive steeply down towards the hotel at the coast. This time we were almost out of season, however the weather was still very hot and due to the reduced tourism and guests at that time, we received a special friendly and attentive service. Their swimmingpool is especially safe for children and adults can swim in the crystal clear water of the Adriatic Sea. The rooms are small, but all have a balcony. the beds quite hard, yet the rooms are very clean and made-up every morning. Although they claim to have Wi-Fi the internet connection did not work and I had to go to the reception to get into the net. Also the TV was not working well (although a new flat-TV), but all this may be to the end of the season, that connections have been reduced.
The breakfast is rich enough, not necessarily the great choice you have at a big hotel, but in our opinion it was good and most of all always fresh.
One disadvantage unfortunately is, that if you do not have a car, you will be stuck to the hotel. Restaurants are not many around, but dinner is served at the Hotel R and it is quite good and not too expensive.
All in all: if you look for a quiet place to relax, this hotel will come near to what you are looking for. If you need lots of activities at night, then you have to go to Bar or Kotor or some other larger town.

We found this whilst looking for stop off points on our journey back to France. We did have to phone twice to find the location of the hotel, as the booking.com address was wrong. It is situated in a fantastic little bay, very peaceful.
We were the last two guests of the season. They closed when we left. We were not able to experience the buffet breakfast or supper - however - breakfast was served to us both mornings and was more than enough for the two of us, very good. Supper was served, there was no menu, but we were more than happy with the fish and vegetables that we had - enough to feed another couple as well!!
Our room was small but adequate for two nights. Lovely views across the bay. The shower was a let down as it was fighting a loosing battle with a calcium build up. I am not a fan of power showers as I feel after a busy season, they struggle to meet the criteria. Back to simple showers I think.
As you are asked not to drink the tap water, it would have been a good idea to have a bottle of water in the room, free of charge.
The staff were splendid, very helpful and very cheerful. We will have to go back when the place is fully open. We understand that the hotel is to undergo modernisation during the winter months.
One word of warning: if you have ANY mobility problems, let the hotel know, they DO NOT have a lift, so could cause great difficulty if you turn up in a chair, or you depend on sticks and can not manage stairs.
You really NEED a car if you are going to stay here for more than a couple of days, though we are not sure where you would park.
We wish the staff a happy winter respite.

After travelling by car from Belgrade our 3-night visit to 'Hotel R' was a relaxing experience in this wonderfully situated small hotel, approximately 15kms south of Bar. From the moment that we arrived the staff were helpful and attentive. During our mini-break the staff never failed to look after all of our requests. This included our request to move from a smaller room with a side-view of the sea to a larger more oppulent room with a 180 view of the sea and surrounding landscape. The pool area presented an easy access to the sea for swimming and snorkeling. The hotel breakfast was varied and represented good Balkan cuisine however the menu for lunch and dinner was limited. The hotel is situated in a peaceful setting next to the sea with at least one excellent fish restaurant (Vongola) within a 10 mins walk from the Hotel R. The hotel bar however would benefit from staying open beyond 10pm each evening. Overall, we would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing break in a picturesque location away from the busier areas in Montenegro.

Very nice hotel staff, we arranged a transfer from the airport to the hotel and back. The view from the balcony to the bay is fantastic. The room is small, but cleaned and changed everyday towels. Great bathroom. There was a small safe in the room, comfortable bed. The heat was not felt, slept well, although late at night the youth on the beach was a little alarmed. The furniture in the room is new, practical, on the balcony additional chairs and table. A great advantage of this hotel is its own beach and seawater pool, which was changed each evening. ith loads of beaches in Montenegro, guests of the hotel have always had free chairs and umbrellas. Breakfast at the hotel as a 3 star was a very decent, though monotonous, very pleasant restaurant staff. Often failures with the wifi.

Rooms were clean, location excellent, food good, and waiters very responsive. Management need help.

We had booked and paid for 3 rooms for 4 persons on booking.com. It took the woman at reception 3 hours to process our check-out. First, she charged one of us for all the rooms (double-charge), and was not able to reverse it without the manager who was AWOL. After 2 hours she was finally able to process a credit. Then it took her another hour to add up and process two restaurant bills. Luckily we had not eaten and waited over a meal in the restaurant. Any service-oriented institution would have not charged 100% for that meal, but then again the management of this hotel is not there yet.....

We stayed here for 3 nights and the room was good, clean, nice balkon and the service is the best! Maja the receptioniste is so nice and helpfull. We give her a 10! The swimmingpool was nice you could easily reach the water of the sea because the hotel had attached some contructions. The food is good. You can eat a la carte or fixed diners. The waiters are so nice!
