Whangarei, New Zealand
Reviewed 5 December 2016

Arrived at our room late friday night after travelling down from Whangarei only to be woken Saturday morning at approx.7.45am by builders next door working on a building site (were not advised of major construction site beside this motel). Stayed the following night only to be woken at 11.00pm by a group of losers who thought it would be a...

Afternoon Annettew1232016 Thank you for taking the time to post your review. Whilst I find the "tone" and innuendo of the latter part of your review distasteful - this says more about you than about Parklane Motor Lodge. Out of professional courtesy and with respect to all future guests - I will respond to the accommodation issues you have highlighted....

A bit torn between giving this a 3 or a 4 rating but ended up giving it a 4 as the kids loved the massive skylight that allowed them to see the moon, planes etc and it had a spa and a large deck that they could run around on. It almost got a 3 though as it is a...

Good morning Thanks for taking the time to write up your review. We appreciate that our location is a huge draw card for guests - so thank you for highlighting those local amenities. Our internet provider has been made aware (on several occasions) about the issues guests are experiencing and we hope to have this resolved in the near future....

We stayed 3 nights with a 2 yo and a 3 yo. While the room is spacious, it is a little outdated and looked old. The penthouse has a glass dome which makes the room very luminous, great for adults, a nightmare to get kids to sleep and not to wake up at 5AM. Also, the penthouses are on second...

Morning Thanks for taking the time to post your review. You are quite right - those windows are an adult delight and a parent nightmare. We love the ambiance of those rooms - and they are due for some TLC with the onset of summer. Hope to have you back :-)

We understood that the motel has just changed hand and the new owners may not have quite catch up with all things that needed their attention yet. Motel looks tried, the top shelf of the kitchen cupboard cover with dust. There are only two dispensers in our bathroom; hand soap and shampoo/conditioner. There was a mark of assummingly body soap...

Hi Bruce Appreciate your honest feedback. Rest assured, those items you have mentioned have been addressed in November and we continue to tick off our list of improvements - especially with the onset of summer. Would love to have you back for that"honest feedback" again at some stage.

Attending a show at the nearby showgrounds, this was the closest place to stay so a group of us booked three rooms here. Having stayed here before several years ago, I was hopeful that some improvements had been made by now, but alas they have not. My room had no climate control at all, insufficient lighting and extremely poor WiFi...

Hi James Thanks for your review. We appreciate that our location is one of the draw cards - however, we would expect better of ourselves for such simple things as a lightbulb change and refilling the dispensers. I am disappointed. Whilst I love the uniqueness of our building - she is definately overdue a little TLC. Be assured, as new...

My husband and I recently stayed at the Parklane Motor Lodge. It was a very difficult week for us with the passing of my father in law. We were very impressed with the high quality of Parklane, and the excellent service provided by the owners Jan and Steve; and their staff. They were extremely hospitable, warm, and compassionate. Our room...

Hi Helen We are very humbled by your review. Yes, we are very proud of Parklane Motor Lodge and our staff. As part of the business "race" - accommodation is our core product but, as part of the human "race" hospitality and compassion is part of our core values. We are excited about the quality improvements that are on the...

Albeit clean & tidy this property is a confusing mish mash of styles that really needs to be brought up to date. Staff and management are terrific but it is not enough to cover the fact that the whole complex is overdue for a refurb

First impression of the Parklane 'bit worn looking'. Reception was tidy, staff friendly. My room was #7. Opened the door and greeted with a strong smell of odour freshener, hints of a strange smell under that. Opened the windows and was stunned to see a great big building in white wrap under construction. Further observation of my room, i noticed...

The service and friendliness of the staff are wonderful but sad to say the room wasn't. It is a concern that there was no heating or extra blankets in your room - this is not the norm. Those same "friendly staff" that you experienced would of certainly rectified the issues you have highlighted, had they known. Thank you for posting your review Whakaue. :-)
